Pugsly

New Member
Hi, I'm new to the forum. I've heard a rumour from a mate and he reckons that Paddy McCarthy has had a transfer link to Charlton. I doubt this is true but I wanted your views on this subject.

Cheers, Pugs. :)

Cool name Pugs, that's what I used to call my bogeys when I was seven...still do sometimes. I hope the McCarthy link is untrue and that come the end of the season we will be in a position to hold onto our best players.

Welcome Pugsly, don't care too much for rumours myself, but I am sure there will be much speculation in the following posts from people with nothing else to worry about.

Welcome

He's a good player - bet scouts are checking him out. My worry is Stearman, he'll be off soon.

Welcome! I think you'll find Premier teams are running the rule over promising young players all the time. Incidentaly, if those players were at a Premier League club, they wouldn't have a sniff of first team action.

welcome pugs:)

If we get relegated everyone will leave.

If we don't then some will still leave IMO

Well my understanding is that the majority are all under contract (the decent ones anyway) so it would require a fee and also one large enough to tempt the club.

The mission statement won't change - build a young squad capable of developing over a 3 year period, which is surely irrespective of the manager.

Fryatt has already stated on his personal website that he would be happy with RK so I would imagine that the other players who are playing with far more passion and quality under RK will feel similar.

The problem would arise when a new manager comes in who wants to bring in his own players, not rate some of those we currently have and change things around again. Then you might get some discontentment.

it is free to register!

He says "all the lads are fond of Rob, he is a good coach and there has been a definate change of mood since he came in. I think he should be given the chance to continue as caretaker and see where it takes us. We shouldn't change for changes sake."
