Here is the line up of nominations:

· Antony and the Johnsons - I Am A Bird Now
· Bloc Party - Silent Alarm
· Coldplay - X&Y
· The Go! Team - Thunder, Lightning, Strike
· Hard-Fi - Stars of CCTV
· KT Tunstall - Eye to the Telescope
· Kaiser Chiefs - Employment
· The Magic Numbers - The Magic Numbers
· Maximo Park - A Certain Trigger
· M.I.A. - Arular
· Polar Bear - Held on the Tips of Fingers
· Seth Lakeman - Kitty Jay

I'd go for either Maximo Park or Bloc Party. Not a strong line up in my opinion. Anthony and the Johnsons seem to be getting a lot of exposure but then again, freaks always do. M.I.A. is just some chav wench, KT Tunstall is pap, Hard-Fi are very average. Magic Numbers could win it, the favourites (or 2nd favourites depending on what you read) Kaiser Chiefs can't win it really, if they do it'll be quite incredible - I hope me mates give me 1% of the prize. Coldplay won't win - too obvious, Polar Bear are not yet a band which deserve such an accolade (note the word 'yet'), Seth Lakeman, hmmmm, rank outsider but stranger things have happened and that leaves the Go! Team who, if they had the ability to play their instruments, would have a chance but alas they don't so no chance.

Who do you think will win?

I have put a tenner on Magic Numbers winning it. Bet 365 just gave me 8/1. I might stick a quid or two on Seth Lakeman too - he's about 20/1.

Seth Lakeman has got really bad dandruff.

gotta be hard-fi, for me their album is the best this year

I think they are - there has been loads of hype about the Chief's this year.

Do you remember me championing the Chiefs after seeing their first, second and third gigs?

Yeah I do. I enjoyed their album when it came out but doesn't have much longevity to me. 'I predict a riot' is a classic but not much else on there I would go back and listen to now.

Hang on a minute - the lyrics to I Predict a Riot are crap! "Oooooooooo I went to get in my taxi, a man in a tracksuit attacks me". Terrible lyrics. Take this band totally at face value because, as Durham says, they will not last long. I know two of them and they are just grabbing as much cash as possible because they know it won't last, you can't blame them though.
