When that rumour came out in the summer about us being after him Birch said on 106 that he'd asked Levein about it and Levein had basically said he wasn't interested (but there was swearing involved of some sort..).

Whilst we clearly need to change something in order to score more goals and subsequently win more matches, bringing in more players from lower divisions or the championship(which is all we can afford) may not buy us anything. We need to make better use of what we have first. The service to who ever plays upfront is not really good enough, if we deploy players like Smith and Hammond, they need balls that they can run on to with pace, they then need to get as far behind the opposing defence as they can and put in quality balls for strikers to meet as they run in. We also need to pull defences about a bit to make space for the sprinters to exploit. Its all seems a bit pedantic at the moment, lots of passes square and backwards is OK to retain possession, but there has to be some killer stroke as a quality conclusion, not just a hopeful lash in to the box. We don't make enough of set peices either, corners are crap most of the time and free-kickes rarely produce.

If we have got the moola to buy a proven 20 goal a season hit-man fine, if not lets not be too hasty and gamble any more money on someone who might be better, but then again might not.

I hate Barber (if he's the bloke who commentates on matches), never met him, don't know anything about him personally, and he may be a wonderful person. But I just hate the sound of his voice, always sounds condecending
and too opinionated. Doesnt entertain me with witty banter or amazing facts, just racks me off.

Did anyone hear the chap banging on about how Williams was just finding his feet whereas hammond had been given more than enough time to prove himself and had enough of a run in the team so we should get rid?

Please correct me if im wrong, but hasn't Williams been here since beginning of last season and produced maybe 2 decent performances, the rest just strolls around not really arsed and probably thinking of what a great team For**t used to be and how they once won the European cup. Whereas Elvis has been here mere months and from what ive seen, at least tries.

What is it with people, Williams come's in as, according to Adams, the best Midfielder outside the prem, puts in half arsed performances when he could really run a game if he wanted to, really dosnt seem bothered and drifts in and out of games, yet we are supposed to give him time. Elvis comes in, never scored a goal in english football, only had a handfull of games under his belt, yet he's expected to be a world beater and we should get rid cos hes not scoring, yet playing 10times better than Williams?

For god's sake grow up people and, as me mam used to say 'If you cant say anything sensible, keep your trap shut'

He needs to commentate on whats going on on the field rather than giving us the wisdom of his opinion,shit-stirring or pissing his trousers with excitement in awe over Dublin.Micky Mouse Radio Station though he's probably only on about 8 Grand a year.
