MS Word - Formatting Font Help

I have a 50 page document to edit in Word, I wish to do all my editing in red font.

Is it possible to set this as my default colour instead of clicking on the icon each time I highlight my editing?

i'm not a word expert by any stretch (it's a bird's program)

With the required document open, enable the Reviewing toolbar:

View
Toolbars
Tick Reviewing

On the Reviewing toolbar, click on Track changes.

Changes will then appear in Red and underlined with the original appearing in red and struck through.

You can change the formatting of the correction in:
Tools
Options
Track Changes tab

I hadn't, I have now, I got confused, got scared and gave up.

Tar anyway.

The docs were made in Word, is there a programme you'd recommend then where I can edit them and send them back and they open them up in word without anybody knowing I'd used another programme?

Makes more sense now, I can set it up as DV suggested and the way you just mentioned as helped me ativate the action.

I changed things around as DV said, but couldn't activate it.
