this will upset a few here but IMO should be dropped for a bit for williams, williams seems to add an extra attacking quality. From what i have seen from nalis in recent games first half he's doing well, but might as well be in the stands. he also requires to much time on the ball, and never runs with it, a few times he's picked it up and instead of running at players, taking it past them he's passed it straight away.[/url]

Nalis - more footballing ability than most at the club -but basically not right sort of player for English football at this or Prem level - seems like a decent bloke & a genuine player - but should have stayed and played in lower division football in Italy or France

While I like Nalis a lot, I agree, I always wanted to see Williams and Joey in midfield...

I also like the idea of 5 in midfield, with Joey sat behind Williams and Nalis...

i'm not saying i don't like him, but just don't think english style (or our style) of football is suited to him.

IMO the bast formation would be

Taylor

Dabizas Heath Keown

Canero Nalis Tiatto Stewart

Williams

Connolly Scowcroft

My chosen formation at present would be:

.............................Walker

.....................Heath....Keown....Dublin..............

............................Gudjohnsson.......................

Canero...........Williams.............Nalis............Morris

....................Connolly..............Scowcroft

i wud mostly agree with that but feel Stewart definately deserves to play! he has been very good lately in attacking and defending!!

i think nalis could be an effective player if he was partnered with a really good, scrappy midfielder - someone who properly motored round the midfield winning the ball - i think this would take some of the pressure of nalis and the game wouldnt flow past him so much - sadly i dont think we have one

Nalis IMO is a good goalscoring midfielder, but flatters to decieve, whilst he is comfortable in possession and is a decent passer of a ball, it is very rarely a defence splitting pass. He is deployed as our playmaker but lacks a cutting edge, he reminds me of Jamie Redknapp - can score spectacular goals and can stroke the ball all over the pitch and look classy but his passing when really analysed is with little end product.

For me Williams should be given an opportunity to cement a place, he is the type of player who we should be building the team around, the reason he has struggled so far has been because of the tactics employed by MA and then he picked up a couple of niggling injuries. Lillian would be good back up.

We've so piss poor all season, that a few goals have clouded everyone's judgement

He is a long haired french tart who runs around like a headless chicken, never makes a tackle, makes one decent pass in ninety minutes, and loses the ball frequently when not even under pressure

And they are his good points

He is symptomatic of our over-flatulent, impotent, pitiful midfield which (coupled with the absolute nightmare that is David Connolly) is the root cause of our continued woe

I'd play Williams and Tiatto in the middle in the long run.Stewart on the left wing,Gillespie or Canero on the right.
Taylor
Canero
Keown
Stearman
??????
Gillespie
Williams
Tiatto
Stewart
Connolly
??????

Subs
Nalis
Dawson
Gudjohnsson
Wright
Heath/Dabizas

Thats for when Tiatto and Canero are fit, right now we are fecked although I'd like to see Dawson in there with Williams.
The likes of Dublin,Scowcroft,Gemmill,Blake I'd forget about and Makin I would drive out to a remote Scottish Loch and drown, if they need directions they can give me a call.
