It's an odd boast. We had no central heating either - and I walked to junior school during the winter of '63 - same as all the other boys in short trousers.
Strange, but I can't remember thinking how hard we were at the time.

He was absolutely correct in what he said. My season tickets are in the lounge he used to work in, so I’ve known his opinions for a long time before they got rid of him. Whether you or I think it’s right, they’re not going to let it happen.

Exactly. When I was a lad if it was cold in our house we'd go and sleep in the garden cos we're not soft like them soft southern Scouse Welshies.
