About feckin' time too. From the clubs e-newsletter:

From West Ryder to the Walkers Stadium - Exclusive

2009 has already proved to be a great year for Leicester City, but the year has also been a great one for another of the City’s great exports.

Following the release of their third album, West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum, Kasabian have staged three sell-out nights at the De Montfort Hall, supported Oasis nationwide and have also taken centre stage headlining the world renowned Glastonbury festival.

This weekend, the Mercury Music prize nominated band’s music will be a significant addition to our matchday music line-up.

Prior to Saturday’s match against Barnsley (3pm kick-off) the City team will be lined up in the tunnel area with the sounds of the band’s anthemic single, ‘Underdog’, ringing around the Walkers Stadium, a tune that will no doubt be familiar with City supporters following its use in a recent T.V ad starring Brazilian international Kaka.

Underdog will be followed immediately by the traditional post horn gallop, played by Paul Hing, in the centre circle before kick-off.

There will be another significant change for the match, one of which we hope the fans on the day will become extremely familiar with.

From Saturday, the band will achieve another milestone, which Kasabian front man, Tom Meighan is buzzing about:

“As a band, we feel privileged that the club is going to use our track, ‘Fire’, as the goal celebration music. Both Serge and I have been supporters of the club forever and to be told this news is amazing – it’s the best feeling in the world!”

He added: “I think under Nigel Pearson’s leadership we look strong and the way we’ve started this season would suggest that we need not fear anyone.”

Tickets remain available to see the on fire Foxes from the City Ticket Office.

Prices start from as little as £5 under 12’s and £20 Adults and can be purchased from the Ticket Office in person, by phone on 0844 815 500 or you can save time and buy online by clicking HERE.

Supporters can purchase Kasabian’s album West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum, which includes the match day music ‘Underdog’ and goal celebration music ‘Fire’ from HMV Leicester, Proud suppliers of matchday music at the Walkers Stadium.

About feckin time for what?
Have you seriously been hoping that the club would play a dull, insipid, dreary, monotonous dirge as goal celebration music?

I have mentioned before that I found Kasabian hugely overrated and only liked by City fans due to being from Leicester.

However Underdog and Fire in my opinion are two fantastic songs and if we have to put up with music after a goal (which I wish we didn't) I would much rather it be this than Chelsea Shitting Dagger.

Can't wait to see the faces of all the mongies when we score and they can't do their shitty little dance.:icon_lol:

I like Fire, but it's a crap after-goal song (if there is such thing as a good after-goal song...)

It beggars belief, it really does

How to make a goal celebration even less enjoyable than it already is with the feckin' gumbies dance - come to Leicester Pricky City and find out

Don't worry it'll be 0-0.

What a strange way to describe an upbeat and far from dull song.

Re: chelsea dagger

I'd rather not have any music when we score a goal, we should be able to make enough noise without the help of the tannoy!

Totally agree.

Does anyone know what is the reasoning behind having music after a goal ? I fail to see the point.

Like a bunch of old women on here you lot are! Homer reminds me of blanche from coronation street.

Your idea of upbeat is obviously very different from mine, it's a ****ing dirge to my ears.
That aside, whether you like it or not, it is an absolutely piss-poor choice of track to play after a goal.

I just dont get why we have to have any music for us to mad at after scoring a gaol ffs .

if at all it should be played when the players come out for the start of the game and again when they come back out at half time
