got to buy a laptop

any recommendations... don't want it for working, just internet, DVDs, telly maybe

thinking about £300...but am flexible

is Dixons shit? or are they competitive?

TBH, they are as good as anywhere DV. I bought an Advent from PC World (same company) a year or so ago and I've been well pleased with it. Get as much RAM as you can afford and check out battery life as this could prove frustrating if you're using it on the move.
