If there is illegality here it may not be trivial (depending on lots of variables obviously). We could for example be subject to criminal prosecution for money laundering offences under POCA 2002. Off the top of my head offences could include acquiring, using, or possessing criminal property, as well as potentially facilitating the acquisition, retention, use, or control of criminal property. There could result in substantial fines. Directors could even face imprisonment. We could also be subject to civil recovery orders. It would be really quite serious. Not the sort of thing a ‘family’ club would do.

Some people are attempting to trace the owners. Not a simple task.

I wonder if BC Game will give me odds on it getting back to associates of King Power?

I don't think we should be surprised at any of this. I recall at the time of King Power taking over, there were stories about their 'dodgy' position in Thailand where despite the King (theirs, not ours) and Vichai being good mates, the company were in trouble for exercising their monopoly in duty frees sales at Thai airports.

I am convinced that they are another lot who would not pass any proper person test if that test had any real meaning at all. Corruption rules as I'm sure we all know.

I remember trying to pass on a little insight on the nature of SE Asian business after the Thai hookers/Pearson sacking debacle but no one seemed particularly interested. This is way more shady & potentially a disaster for the club.
Everyone involved should be out the door as soon as the full facts are known. From Whelan down. In fact if it was up to me I'd shunt them now. That could end up making things look at least a little less shifty when the court cases get going.

Jesus Chirst, regulation barely even exists in Curacao. Thats why these things are based there. So imagine how shady you have to be to actually fall foul of it?

We are run by ****s. Completely incompetent, shifty ****s at the Boris Johnson level.

Josimar is one of the most respected investigative football journalists for anyone unfamiliar.

Doesn't sound good at all

So many red flags in that article that the club should have been aware of before signing up with them. I'd be very surprised if any money has actually been paid for the shirt sponsorship so far.

It’s hard to overstate how shambolic the running of the club has become.

From financial management, to PR, to hiring, to sponsorship, to fan engagement…there doesn’t appear to be a single part of the club functioning at all.
It's got Sunderland written all over it. I genuinely fear for the future.

I thought I was a loner for a while, I think the running has been shambolic as well, but kept running into KP fanboys every time I said anything.
