It is an open secret that the owners want Premier League football and that Sven would have cash to spend. It is also self evident that there will be a limit. Much better to keep it between Sven and Top than to blast the figure everywhere. Exciting times (but no Kaka - see the article).

I'd have just ignored it, the Mockery have obviously made a story out of something that isn't newsworthy. "Sven hasn't been told his spending limit" doesn't make a good headline, but it's closer to the truth.

Could be wrong, but I took it to mean that the owners would decide on a deal by deal basis whether they'll give SGE the money, rather than giving him a set budget over the season. Doesn't mean we'll spend any less or more though.
