November Player Review
1 – Martin Keown
Keown has managed to get the highest average rating out of everyone for the second month running despite not playing enough games to warrant an award. City home fans will not have seen him in action this month as his only appearance was away at Wigan where he put in a very good point to give Leicester a point at the home of what were the league leaders.
Monthly Rating: 7.47
Best Performance: Wigan Athletic (A) – 7.47
Worst Performance: Wigan Athletic (A) – 7.47

2 – Gareth Williams
Again Williams was hampered by injury this month but made a second half comeback against Plymouth at the end of the month where many argued that he changed the game and put in a match-winning performance. More of those kind of performances would certainly be welcomed by Leicester fans. December could be a big month for Gareth.
Monthly Rating: 7.24
Best Performance: Plymouth Argyle (H) – 7.24
Worst Performance: Plymouth Argyle (H) – 7.24

3 – Stuart Taylor
Signed on loan from Premiership champions Arsenal, Taylor has been pretty solid in the sticks only conceding one goal in his two appearances this month. While he has been widely touted as one of England’s brightest young goalkeeping prospects in the past, Arsene Wenger has already stated that he is not needed at Highbury. Maybe we have already found a long-term replacement for Ian Walker.
Monthly Rating: 7.01
Best Performance: Plymouth Argyle (H) – 7.17
Worst Performance: Wigan Athletic (A) – 6.85
Minutes Played: 40%
4 – Matt Heath
Heath has had a much more solid month this month earning him the fans’ view player of the month award. However, fans seem to be split on opinions with the young centre back. The people who still rate him on one side, and the people who think that the fact that he was our player of the month highlights some of our weaknesses. In the short term however, I feel he deserves praise for a fairly solid month.
Monthly Rating: 6.81
Best Performance: Coventry City (H) – 7.58
Worst Performance: Sunderland (H) – 6.26
Minutes Played: 60%
5 – Peter Canero
Canero was given an opportunity to impress at right back in place of Makin this month and did not really let anyone down. While his performances were not scintillating he did seem very solid in the games that he played at the start of the month. However, some fans still do not seem convinced about his ability to defend as well as he attacks. Unfortunately he has not played since the Sunderland game due to injury.
Monthly Rating: 6.80
Best Performance: Crewe Alexandra (A) – 7.23
Worst Performance: Sunderland (H) – 6.16
Minutes Played: 59%
6 – Lilian Nalis
Nalis was one of the three players to have played every minute of every game throughout November and overall did not have a bad month compared to his poor October performances. This month has shown both sides to Lilian, putting in good performances at the start of the month but seriously wavering towards the end. However, he is still scoring goals and remains a favourite with the City faithful.
Monthly Rating: 6.78
Best Performance: Coventry City (H) – 8.08
Worst Performance: Wigan Athletic (A) – 5.71

7 – Jordan Stewart
Young Jordan thankfully is now improving all the time and this has shown by the fact that November was his best month so far by quite a distance. His ratings this month seem to have highlighted a problem that no-one has picked up on for him, he only seems to play well at home. His three good ratings were for the home games against Cov, Sunderland and Plymouth whereas his two poor performances were at Crewe and Wigan.
Monthly Rating: 6.69
Best Performance: Sunderland (H) – 7.37
Worst Performance: Crewe Alexandra (A) – 5.47
Minutes Played: 96%
8 – Danny Tiatto
A pretty average month by Danny’s high standards. He has however established himself as a firm favourite with City fans since his signing in the summer with some fantastic performances. A player who not only works his studs into the ground every game but also has a lot of ability on the ball. Looks too good at this level, but hopefully he can help to drive the team towards a promotion push on his return from injury.
Monthly Rating: 6.60
Best Performance: Coventry City (H) – 8.01
Worst Performance: Crewe Alexandra (A) – 5.70

9 – James Scowcroft
A fairly average month for our most established first-teamer Scowy. The goals have not been flowing freely for our forwards so far this season and this is reflected in the ratings that they have been given. Scowcroft in himself has not put in one real noteworthy performance nor has he put in a single bad performance. Is it a matter of time before Levein and maybe the fans lose patience?
Monthly Rating: 6.54
Best Performance: Coventry City (H) – 6.89
Worst Performance: Sunderland (H) – 6.00

10 – Joey Gudjonsson
November has been Joey’s best month for the club so far and overall I think the jury is probably still out. He has been fairly erratic with his performances, a good performance always seemingly followed by a not so good performance. Maybe if he can get a bit more consistency in his overall game, he could win himself over with the fans and play with a bit more confidence.
Monthly Rating: 6.46
Best Performance: Crewe Alexandra (A) – 7.27
Worst Performance: Sunderland (H) – 5.39

11 – Keith Gillespie
It has been a long time coming but Gillespie has finally been given a good run in the team playing a good part in every game throughout November. He has seemed to take a few games to find his feed again but his ratings show that he has been improving as the month has gone on. Hopefully he will be able to carry this into December and continue to offer that option out wide that the team has so desperately been missing at times this season.
Monthly Rating: 6.44
Best Performance: Plymouth Argyle (H) – 7.31
Worst Performance: Crewe Alexandra (A) – 5.53

12 – David Connolly
Again as with Scowcroft but a bit more profusely, it could be sooner rather than later before the fans start to turn against Connolly. Levein has continued to keep faith with the Irishman but fans are starting to talk about other options in attack. Overall the ratings show how he has got worse and worse as the month has gone on. A player who will no doubt keep being debated on for some time to come.
Monthly Rating: 6.31
Best Performance: Crewe Alexandra (A) – 7.40
Worst Performance: Plymouth Argyle (H) – 5.12

13 – Lee Morris
At last, Lee Morris has finally appeared in a Leicester shirt and I think I was not the only one to feel relieved that he has finally got a few games under his belt. It was not a particularly good month performance wise by Morris but people have to remember he has been out of action for nigh on 18 months and will take a while to get back up to the pace of first team football once again.
Monthly Rating: 6.13
Best Performance: Wigan Athletic (A) – 6.72
Worst Performance: Plymouth Argyle (H) – 4.80
Minutes Played: 30%
14 – Nathan Blake
It is hard to comment on Blake this month as he has only been given 20 minutes overall, but in the short spaces of time that he has appeared, he has actually shown massive improvement on his previous performances actually appearing to look slightly interested now.
Monthly Rating: 6.08
Best Performance: Wigan Athletic (A) – 6.69
Worst Performance: Plymouth Argyle (H) – 5.47

15 – Nikos Dabizas
Our resident European Championship winner has not shown his medal winning qualities this month at all despite playing every minute of every game. His best performance during November against Coventry can not really be accurately described as anything better than average according to the ratings given by the fans. Still persists in using his hands to defend too much in the fans’ opinion.
Monthly Rating: 5.62
Best Performance: Coventry City (H) – 6.65
Worst Performance: Sunderland (H) – 4.58

16 – Kevin Pressman
Ex-Sheffield Wednesday keeper Pressman had a VERY erratic month before being replaced by on loan young keeper Stuart Taylor. He put in a pretty good performance against Coventry but two performances in where he was to blame for goals really let him down and prompted Craig Levein to get in a replacement. Since being dropped however, has got injured so once again we have very little goalkeeping cover.
Monthly Rating: 5.48
Best Performance: Coventry City (H) – 7.19
Worst Performance: Crewe Alexandra (A) – 4.47

17 – Scot Gemmill
Gemmill’s appearances have been scattered minutes here and there mainly coming off the bench. He was given a new 3-month contract which seemed to please the majority of City fans as he does provide cover throughout midfield. However it would be a little flattering to describe any of his performances as average when he has played. I don’t want to be too critical as its hard to get going when you are only given a few minutes here and there.
Monthly Rating: 5.39
Best Performance: Plymouth Argyle (H) – 5.83
Worst Performance: Sunderland (H) – 4.87

18 – Dion Dublin
Again, Dublin has played very little this month after suggestions that he could have been on his way back to his old club Coventry. Played the last game of the month in defence and whilst he did not excel, looked a lot more at home there than he did in attack. Will be interesting to see how he is used throughout December.
Monthly Rating: 5.12
Best Performance: Plymouth Argyle (H) – 5.93
Worst Performance: Sunderland (H) – 4.31
Minutes Played: 21%
19 – Chris Makin
Makin was brought back in for the Wigan game after Canero was ousted due to injury and has been pretty disappointing. The main fact highlighted by the ratings so far this season is that as the months have been going on he is getting worse and worse. Hopefully he can get out of this slide as soon as possible and get the fans’ confidence back.
Monthly Rating: 4.98
