Spoke to a mate with strong links at the club, who claims that a lot of the players at the time of the Birmingham City match were really under the weather; the fact we got anything from the game therefore is a massive plus, massive....Sorry for the performance, but we got a point at one of this leagues' sure favourites for promotion.
We have NO MONEY, if Rob Kelly is therefore looking at getting in more strikers and midfielders to look at options in the two areas where we are not performing well enough then really, what is the problem with that? At least he's addressing a problem we all see from the side-lines, unlike arrogant previous managers who have had tendancies to ignore brute problems on the pitch.
My lowest ebbs this season had been Burnley at home, however they are looking like Brazil follwing that performance at Norwich and perhaps I had (again) under estimated their power in this division under Cotterill. My point being is that perhaps we're being a bit harsh on games like that? Hull was unlucky, Colchester I missed (thank god).
Listen, I am Blue Army through and through and I too am depressed about the fact that we now support a very 'ordinary' Championship football club following the Martin O'Neil years of glory at Filbo' - but this is where we are. I fully believe that a few goals and bits of luck for our strikers and this season will turn around. RK has got a solid back line IMO which with Logan and McAulay (superb I thought) playing so well is now looking even better; if our midfield and strikers could start finding form we have the basis of a good side.
I love this forum and respect (almost) all your views all the time, but please chaps/esses be realistic about our beloved football club. Without Mandaric's magic wand (perhaps) we need to be patient. Ideas of Asaba and Farrelly are to be applauded not knocked at IMO. At the same time, the inclusion of Logan, Porter and Weso make the future look brighter......Wake Stearman up from the dead, get Fryatt's scoring touch and we could be on to a much better season than last - and again finally building to a brighter future again down Filbert Way.
Blue army till i die.
