I'd be quite disappointed to see him go for only a quarter of a million pounds. Granted Oakley is getting on a bit, but he's still a useful player and as someone has previously pointed out his style may suit Sousa's tactics and he is also club captain. As we'd be selling him to a league rival I'd prefer to see us to get a better fee for him as I'm not positive that we could get a better central midfielder for that amount. Hey-ho, though, it's not as if its Hobbs or King leaving, it isn't an end of the world scenario.

I think the £250k quoted is for the other player mentioned in the story. I'd be amazed if we get anywhere near that for Oakley.

The £250k bid is in relation to a different player, not Oakley. But I'm sure you read the article properly, so you will already know that.

In fact the article doesn't really say very much, does it? Only that Oakley is the kind of player that Palace are looking for.

I hope replacements are 100% certain to come in. PS seems keen to clear out players before the start of the season. We don't want to be short of numbers for the first few games. That's when a lot of injuries occur.

Everythings fine Homer, we've got nearly all the players left we started last season with. We are just as strong as we were a year ago therfore we will win the league. It's all fine. We won't miss all the players who have left/not resigned and haven't been replaced.
