does it stay the same, as 1/8 of the cube is above the liquid line, so when it melts (and reduces its volume) it remains constant?

Does the density of water change if it changes from ice to liquid to steam? What about the volume? :102:

The density changes as it goes from a liquid to a solid. the volume also increases when going from a liquid to a solid.

Anyway, the answer is that the level will stay the same.

the density changes when in all forms as temperatures vary

hot water is bigger than cold water...until you get near to freezing then it starts getting lighter (don't ask)
