Newell himself has admitted that and it's been posted a fair few times. He's said he's not been offered the job though, but it sounds like he would take it if he was offered it.

I agree Leigh, I would imagine the groundwork is now being carried out in preperation for Newell to be announced tomorrow or most likely Tuesday.
