Walkers Youth Academy starlet Luke O'Neil has been included in the England squad for the forthcoming Under-17 UEFA Elite Round Tournament in Denmark.

The Nordic Championships are taking place from Thursday, July 26 to Sunday, August 5 and England will come up against Iceland (July 30), Finland (July 31), and Sweden (August 2) in the initial knock-out stages.

The other group consists of Belgium, Denmark, Faroe Islands and Norway.

Walkers Youth Academy Manager Jon Rudkin said: "This is a good opportunity for Luke and hopefully he'll benefit from this experience and bring it back into the football club upon his return."

Well done Luke, do us proud! Nice to see another of our young lads called up for England... although I've never heard of him. Was he part of the winning team from last season, or was at a younger level than that?
