Dunno who's going (apart from me), but thought it might be worthwhile canvassing a few views

We should be talking about ways for the club to communicate/consult with fans - would be interested to see what you think

At the moment we have these open meetings, attended by one man and his dog
And the Fans Forum - a complete and utter waste of time and effort (in my 'umble opinion)
And the one-off fans survey undertaken twelve months ago - expensive, labour-intensive and dependent on the questions asked

Would people be interested in a more "modern" way of consultation - by email or by internet forum - or do we favour the traditional route of having a small group of self selecting individuals (such as me) spouting off and representing the whole of the LCFC fan base

Would be interested to hear any ideas as to how the club can engage with a larger group of people

i think those who for whatever reason cannot attend these meetings should be able to email in questions etc to be asked.

plus last time people kept going back to the same things again and again, maybe if they could have an agenda so as to keep all questions on similair topics together.

Do they ever advertise these meetings on their own official site? I can't remember them ever doing so...no offence to the Foxes Trust, but I rarely check their site.

Perhaps this is the way forward. I.e. advertising consultation meetings, rather than assuming the populace can guess!

im going homer, and willow..... and durham i believe. communication with the fans and vice versa(as its a two way street) should be on line imo -its quick low cost and efficient.

It was advertised on the main site, SF- they always are

But people just do not want to go to an open meeting - and even when they do, they usually get hijacked by certain people or, as BF, said, go off on strange and random topics as there is no fixed agenda

If I ask what went on at this meeting, will I get my head bitten off.:icon_eek:  :icon_cry: :icon_cry: ;)

Definitely

If you can't be bothered to come over from Belgium then you don't deserve to be told

You're a disgrace.....

Interesting question Homer - agree with the idea & just to further Homer's suggestion, question for you all

Say on Tuesday night 40-50 fans turn up & smoking is discussed.

What counts more - the 40/50 fans views present or the 179 that completed the Trust survey?

Only problem I can see with the e-mail/electronic route - if the e-mails were collected by the club & they wanted to avoid a topic - how would we know of their existence? - maybe an e-mail address is created which auto forwards to both the club & the Trust.

Alternatively create a yahoo group & all taking part can view, so nothing is hidden.

Leave you to raise the idea Homer, we will support it

At the open meeting you can raise any issue you want can't you?

Can someone that's going raise the issue of how crap the OS is? As an example, the fact that Watford managed to have pictures of Jordan Stewart in their shirt on their site, before ours had any mention of a transfer whatsoever. Plus the listing of all our players in wrong positions, and listing Steven Hughes of Coventry, who doesn't play for us in our squad list. I know the OS isn't a major issue, but it is frustrating how it is always late and inaccurate.

of course using the various messageboards might stop the club 'avoiding' questions because hopefully someone(like the Foxes Trust) would collect them altogether-give a copy to the club to 'prepare' answers and then keep a close on eye whether they do avoid any that have been asked this way.

the trouble i find with using the internet to conduct the meeting is that i like to be able to see the reactions of those being asked the questions. that way you know which questions make them uncomfortable!

i can only assume that those things are down to whoever it is who actually runs the site at the club.

but then again....it's probably your browser that is making you see those things...

It has been raised before - the answer being that our fabulous board signed our life away to the company that manages it prior to going into administration, and we're stuck in a never ending contract

No harm in raising it again though, as it is truly pitiful

Just a few points on the above:

I am not in favour of all consultation being done on an internet messagebaord, as the users are again self-selecting and usually unrepresentative of the majority of fans
Used in conjunction with working groups and email groups, though, it could be an option

The answer to your smoking question, FT, is that the opinions of those at the meeting would be far more acceptable since the FT does not represent all LCFC fans - but instead only those that are members

Certainly not true in the case of this survey. Over a quarter of those that took part came from e-mail requests following a message board invite & so those fans are not members of the Trust

As did many other clubs, its not just our club that is hung by the contract terms.

However our site is not maintained as well as many others, as highlighted by numerous instances posted on various message boards in recent months

See you there then.

Marco - you still going?

Not sure on food homer, shall I email the club :icon_lol:

Lisa on another forum wants to know what happened to Boca Juniors this pre-season? :) :) ;)
