open .tif

someone emailed me a pic a while ago, a .tif file but for some reason i cant open i cant open it on this computer, i have opened it before and have a hard copy but i wondered if there was any way to open it on my current one?

try and save it again as a JPG!!

how do i do that, it comes straight from my yahoo account and i cant see an option for that

right click, save as, the where you type in the file name under that is where you can change how you save the file.

You got also find out where it is in your documents and rename it as fosseboy.jpg

it was sent as a .tif, and you cant change how its downloaded when the save option opens up, pissing me off cos i have opened using fax viewer on other computers bastard yahoo

You can't just change the file extension to .jpg, you need to use a program that will open .tif files, or one that can convert it.

If you haven't got a program that can open .tif files try downloading this: http://www.irfanview.com/ which should be able to open it and convert it to a different format if you need to do that.

Also there's no point blaming Yahoo for it, if that's the format it's sent in. That would be like blaming the Royal Mail if someone sends you a letter you don't like!

And linking to files on your hard disk won't do anything, because you're the only person who can see it.

is there any reason why it wont open on the fax viewer on my current computator?
