Did anyone watch Panorama tonight on BBC1 at 20:30?
Quite enlightening into the world of Scientology, mainly shocking. The lengths that they go to ensure that anyone who is discrediting or bad-mouthing Scientology is scary. One documentary maker who was filming Scientologists (sp) had posters put up all around the City in which he lived warning people of this man, that he had previously been convicted for having sex with a prostitute or something similar, can't remember exactly, along with other things that he had done in his past such as drug use ect. They had traced his whole life somehow and gave details of 'grey-areas' of his past.
As well as this, they were constantly following the BBC documentary maker knowing exactly where he was/ would be without him telling him. It was one guy who was mainly following him and basically everytime the BBC guy tried to conduct an interview, this Scientology guy would turn up ad basically just have a go at him for preaching negative propaganda about Scientology.
It was if they have something to hide about the 'religion/cult' that they do not want to be found out or aired to the public and go to extreme lengths to ensure this. Very, very scary and would find it hard to accept if it was to be classed as an official religion in this country.
