El Dude Brother.
Does anyone know of a partitioning tool that works with Vista? I would use Partion Magic but it doesnt seem to be Vista compatilibe.

I need to try and recover data from a corrupt Vista imstallation that wont boot.

Any help appreciated.

I always use windows built in disk manager, which admitedly is of no help to your situation

How are you going to use a partition tool to recover data?

You need to run the PC from a boot CD or from a Linux distro that has NTFS support built in, I'm pretty sure Mepis has this.

I was just going to shrink the existing Partition and then install XP on the remainder in the hope of being able to read the old partition from XP

I just wondering whether I would be as well as to buy a 2.5" HDD USB caddy, put the laptop drive in that and see if that does the trick.
