Paul Barnes is a City fan !

Anybody remember Paul Barnes, a big bustling centre forward who played for the likes of York City, Stockport, Burnley, Donny Rovers etc, well he was sat in the Family Stand yesterday.

Not very interesting I know, but you never really think of ex professionals except for the likes of Sir Gary, having a strong allegiance to a club and especially to sit and support the team from the stands.

He was part of the decent Stockport County side that had the cup runs under Dave Jones.

He was playing for Hinckley United last season.

He doesnt appear on the clubs website, so he is no longer playing for Hinckley, the plot thickens !

According to soccerbase he has not made an appearance in the 2005 / 06 season so it would appear that he has in fact retired. He scored 185 goals in 404 league starts not a bad record.

Didn't re-sign at the start of the season. There was talk of him joining Gary Mills at Alfreton Town, but it doesn't seem to have happened.

He is a Leicester lad, so it can't be too much of a surprise.

He wasn't offered a deal at the Marstons, had enough of him. Think they could do with him at the minute tbh.

He then went to Alfreton, played a few games and retired.
