Suppose you got the job as Leicester manager, how would you approach the job, how you would you select your best team? manage the squad and training?

If it were me............

To choose my team, i would start on the basis of a 442 formation, since i think this is the best balanced formation, for me other formations are only if you wish to exploit a particular strength in your team, or cover for a specific weakness.

I would decide who i felt was the best individual in each area (defence, midfield, attack) for me this would be

McCarthy, because he takes the innitiative and attacks the ball.
Gudjonsson, because of his energy and willingness, a box to box player who is impossible to mark.
Fryatt, the other strikers haven't really started any fires, and fryatt has made a bright start and his highly regarded, so i would base my attack on him.

i would then choose the players who i felt complimented these, not the best individuals.

Along side McCarthy i would probably pick Kisnorbo, if McCarthy is attacking the ball, you need someone who will take responsability and cover for anything he looses. Kisnobo did this well against QPR. Gerrbrand covers his own patch well, but doesn't really cover, and i haven't noticed this with Nils.

Stearman has been solid at RB, so would get the nod.

LB is a problem, but as a new manager, and everyone having a clean slate, i would choose Sheehan, since he is the only recognised player there.

(Stearman McCarthy Kisnorbo Sheehan.

Since Joey gets around a bit, i would want a player who was a bit more 'static' in front of the defence. For me this would be Williams, more as a play maker than a ball winner role. Smith on the left as the one player who can provide a bit of individual flair to create something, and hammond on the right, with his pace.

(Hammond Gudjonsson Wiliams Smith)

Hume along side Fryatt. Fryatt likes to get into the box, where as hume is more dangerous on the edge of the box i feel, so he would be a different option for the midfielders, he would also offer a bit of creativity down the middle that i think joey lacks.

(Hume Fryatt)

Goalkeeper is a tough one, but Douglas has looked okay recently, and henderson is a bit of an unknown, so Douglas would start for me.

My bench would vary according to the oposistion, and what i think there good and bad at.

For wolves i would have
Henderson
Johansson (his ability to play at CB and cover at LB makes him the ideal sub)
Weslowski (If Williams is getting the run around, he would some determination to the midfield, if got a bit scrappy, which with wolves midfield is likely)
Hammil ( i think the flanks are a key area against wolves, and if smith or hammond prove in-effective, he gives us an option)
O'Grady (not much competition now, but he is a bit stronger than hume and fryatt so would be handy if we need to be more direct, or get a bit physical.)

Training would focus on defending set peices, and i would do a lot of one-touch attacking play, to try and get the players using the ball quicker, and exploiting our pace.

McCarthy would be captain.

It's horrific all this isn't it? Up and down all the bloody time.....Mare.....

Can't abide Holloway myself, I like the man's spirit but I have to say QPR look an awful one-dimensional outfit....

What's your money on HF?

I wouldn't diss RN's info but wouldn't be sure until its signed and sealed,Luton could always make him a better offer.Don't like Holloway, average Manager IMO.

Seems to me he's created the Wimbledon "Crazy Gang" for the 21st Century.

Feriol, where is Hughes in your analysis? A player with genuine quality, willing to get beyond the front 2 and score goals and one of the best players on tuesday night (and every time he's played fully fit!). you seem to have dropped him not only from the starting XI, but also from the bench,...and replaced him with Hamill who has shown very, very little and should have been fined the maximum amount for his pathetic attempt at a tackle in a huge game at Hillsborough!

i consider Gudjonnson the key midfielder, and i feel williams is the better compliment to him. hughes is another player that likes freedom, but at least one player has to be disciplined in the midfield.

I Stated that i felt the wings would be important against wolves, and i don't think Hughes does the wing play very well, he tends to come inside, so i wanted a winger on the bench.

Also i would give everyone a clean slate, so hammil would deserve a chance.

its all about opinions mate. what would you do?

i agree with you in the fact that (this season at least) gudjohnson has been the key midfielder. I also agree that weso has an enormous amount of potential and a very infectious enthusiasm which is very beneficial to the team. I also understand your point about Williams complementing Joey, but I feel that Hughes has real quality above and beyond all the aforementioned players. Moreover, to put hughesy behind elvis and hammill who have shown little to nothing for leicester struck me as unjust at best. I'm not having a go, but I'm a strong believer in judging players on performances and putting Hughesy outside the top 16 isn't doing that.

In the championship you need 2 effective central midfielders who can influence a game for 90 minutes, players who are capable of tackling and getting a foot in, they need to be defensively aware, whilst also being able to get forward and support in attack. These midfielders also need to be comfortable on the ball and be able to retain possession.

IMO we have lacked this all season, even though Joey has done well, it has been very rare that we have truly dominated in midfield, and that is because Williams is too lightweight, Kisnorbo is poor in that position and both Weso and Hughes our two best midfielders IMO have been injured for most of the campaign, I believe that a combination of Joey, Weso or Hughes any 2 of the 3 would provide the missing qualities we have been lacking.

Although Joey's having a good season, there is little doubt in my mind that Hughes is the best midfielder we have at the club.

Agreed. Spot on, although I don't like putting that much pressure on an 18 year old. Also agree with alex.

i would go with maybe the diamond midfield with smith on the left n hughes on the right, joey in a holding position and hume an attackin midfielder as this is his natural position. henderson in goal. centre backs: mccarthy and kisnorbo with tiatto left back and stearman right back. upfront fryatt and o'grady as a target man, from wat ive seen from the lad he luks s pretty good player. i would have joey and hume taking corners. joey and tiatto sharing free kicks. and definatly paddy M as (C)

yeah for debenhams, hughes is by far our best player in the centre mid, its just thats hes been injured most season, and is now probs only just feeling 100% after havin a good run in the team, also one of my mates i live with is a rangers fan and he said that hughesy was one of their best prospects when he was there its just that he kept on gettin injured and that was why he was allowed to leave, shame if his injuries do persist cus he could play a role like muzzy did, he has got excellent passing, pretty skillfull and got a good first touch, if he worked a bit more on is defensive game then i think he would be the complete midfielder.
