I know Sheff's site isn't currently working, but I wanted to see what you lot all thought of how the lads did last night.

Douglas 6, solid performance

Stearman 7, this kid has a big future. great effort

Dublin 7, very skillful, but you fear that he comes close to fu(king up and making an embarrasment of himself. but played very well

Johansson 6, done ok. held his position well enough with Dublin

Maybury 6, the first time i've seen him play this well at left-back

Hamil 5, effort was there. he'll improve, but not into a world beater

Tiatto 6, plenty of effort and energy

Gudjohnson 7, kept busy, with some good movement and some intelligent passing

Williams 4, terrible passing, 6 passes (i'm certain) went straight to a bolton player in the centre of the park. the goal spared his blushes

Hughes 5, poor performance, never got into the game as one would expect, but didn't disgrace himself

De Vries 6, played very well for a lone striker. we asked too much from him, as in the first half and periods of the second there was little supporting him

subs: Silla 6, got involved
McCarthy 7, slotted straight in to the back four
Sheehan 6, played well

Douglas 7 - Made some decent saves, and looked solid, only dodgy area IMO was some of his kicking.

Stearman 8 - Superb performance from Dicky, the experience of playing against players of the calibre of Nakata and Okacha will have helped his development no end.

Johansson 6 - Looked shaky at times but I thought he did well considering he was reverting back to centre half, certainly wasnt embarrased.

Dublin 7 - Played well, although can be casual in possession and sometimes is lucky not to get punished.

Maybury 7 - Another very good display following on from his impressive performance against Sheff Utd, looks to be returning to something like his best.

Hamill 5 - Worked hard, but when in possession did very little to create, provided little in the way of an attacking cutting edge.

Williams 6 - Struggled with his passing, looked rusty and short of match sharpness, worked hard for the side and certainly improved especially when Hughes went off and he was given more attacking licence, great goal.

Gudjonsson 8 - Surely our most improved player, committed and energetic and is a lot more comfortable in possession compared to last season.

Hughes 5 - He is either injured or he isnt, not in the 16 on satdi but suddenly fit enough to start 3 days later, looks off the pace and a shadow of the player from last season.

Tiatto 7 - Decent game from Danny, energetic and was always an option.

De Vries 6 - Worked hard and battled all night, but he looked slow and cumbersome, was difficult because of the lack of pace we didnt really have an out ball, we missed the pace of Hume and Hammond.

Subs

Sylla 6 - Did ok and worked hard, final ball was a little disappointing.

McCarthy 7 - Usually Paddy performance, whole hearted and battled for everything.

Sheehan - Not on long enough IMO.
