A good second half showing today, first half was mind numbing. Probably the right result on reflection. If we could play like we did in the second half today every week we would be a lot further up the table.

Smith looks quality!!! Please move hughes in to the middle and drop Williams!!!!!

Or put hume in the middle with hammond and de vries up front. Im convinced hume is an attacking midfielder not a forward.

No way, leave Hume and Hammond up top, IMO we lost quite a bit of the attacking impetus when De Vries came on, Hume and Hammond especially in the 2nd half were a real handful and had started to link up well, we had pace and plenty of movement, when De Vries came on we lost that and looked a little more pedestrian. IMO that change didnt need to be made. However I would like to see Hughesy moved inside for a run of games, Williams struggled today and I think at present we are not seeing the best of Stephen Hughes whilst he is stuck out on the wing. Ryan Smith is suspended for 3 games I think so until he is back my midfield would be :

Sylla Gudjonsson Hughes Tiatto

On the return of Smith I would then put Smith on either wing as a replacement for Sylla or Tiatto.

I thought Des Vries did really well when he came on!How can you say we lost attacking impetus?! We had more chances when he was on the pitch. He put in Hume for the goal, and set up Smith as well. He also had 2 chances of his own when battling and winning long pumped up balls out of nothing.

Henderson - 6. punches alot but didn't do too much wrong.

Stearman - 5. Really struggled against Tommy Smith, who had the beating of him.
Dublin - 8. Brillant in the first half. Surprisingly his passing was good.
Johansson 6. Bit of a Spencer Proir preformance. Kind of forgot he was there.
Kisnorbo 7. i think this gut should be our left back. He's fairly solid, offers us a bit more height at the back, and gets struck in. The problem is that he's just not a attacking player, ands offers very little going forward.

Hughes 6. Didn't do a greal deal.
Gudjonsson 7. Capable of some great skill and then some stupid mistakes. But so much improved on last year.
Williams 5. Whats up with this guy? His passing was terrible, he difted in and out of the game, and apart from a few nice touches didn't do a great deal. Hughes needs to be in the center.
Tiatto 7. Did well today, and apart from 10 minutes in the second half, hardly gave away a few kick! Great effort in the first half. He had the beating of -there right-back(who was rubbish) and even put a few crosses in.

Hammond 7 Made a pain in the arse of himself. And unlucky with the offside decisions.
Hume 7 Ran around alot and not afriad of a shot. I like him, although he does seem to hesiate sometimes.

Gerrband 7. Looked solid. Defended well and his passing was fairly good.
Des Vries 7. I thought he did well. Great ball for Humes goal. Had two chances where he just muscled out there center back.
Smith. 9. We're never going to buy this guy! Quick, sharp, great skill. Offered something different when he came on. When you see a player like this at 18, you think Sylla should never play again! Quality! Should have scored though!

agree about the MDV comments!

we certainly didn't lose any attacking threat when he came on(but then again Hammond had run the defence ragged second half!)

It is all about opinions, I wasnt having a pop at De Vries, I thought he did ok, I just felt we were really stretching the Derby backline and that was because Hammond and Hume's pace and movement were really causing problems, I would have liked to have seen Hammond given another 10 to 15 minutes. De Vries did ok, it is just that I thought Derby found it easier to pick MDV up than what they had with Elvis. At the point the substitution was made I didnt think we needed to change it up front, Elvis had had 2 very close offsides given against him resulting in 2 disallowed goals, I just felt it would be worth keeping him on as he looked full of confidence.

I also thought De Vries did ok when he came on, it change a bit but didn't stop our attacking movement. Impress with Smith and I also liked the the idea of Hume & Hammond up front.

Henderson 6 - Did ok, actually caught a couple of balls. If he's going to carry on punching the ball he must learn to get a good hit on it so it travels a lot further.
Stearman 5 - Was given a torrid time early on and didn't seem to recover his composure. Learning curve should do him good in the long run.
Kirsnorbo 7 - Looked a totally diffrent player at left back than on Tuesday.
Johansson 7 - Steady perfomance. part of a solid defence for a change.
Dublin 7 - Probably his best this season. Commanded the defence well & his passing was good. Still struggles when players run pass him.
Hughes 6 - Tried to get into the game, needs to play in the middle of the park. Fitness coming on but still some way to go.
Tiatto 7 - Had a good game. Would have been better if he could have cut out the mad 10 min. that got him a booking.
Gudjonsson 7 - Again a good hard working performance.
Williams 4 - For all the skill he has got, he wastes it through lack of effort. His commitment during the game was awful. If only he could add Joey's commitment what a player we could have.
Hume 7 - Struggled to get a good opening in the first but didn't lack effort. Worked well with Elvis in the second and looked a class act.
Hammond 7 - Can't fault his effort. Understanding with Hume was good especially in the second half. Unlucky with the decision, should have had one at least.
Gerrbrand 6 - Did job well. Good to see him return to full fitness.
Smith 7 - Brilliant prospect. Good footballing brain. Would have scored much higher if he had been on longer.
De Vries 6 - Did well when he came on. Unlucky with a couple of chances. Good to see he is still getting into those positions.

All round a decent performance. We were unlucky not to win it clearly. Wasn't that linesman in the second half crap. From where I sat thought that one of the goals was not offside and he gave at least 3 goalkicks to Derby when they were blattently corners. His throw in decisions were no better for either side. Friend of mine who sat in the West stand told me that Hammond was definetly robbed of 1 goal, and he's a Ram's supporter.
