Just been reading a report on Argles friendly in Sweden. I noticed Gilbert was not involved, indeed it was stated they played a different defensive formation (3 centre backs). May be an indication that he is poised to join us, hope so.

It is funny you should say that as I followed a link to a Plymouth site and all the fans on their were saying that Gilbert was no wing back and that was the way Plymouth were going. ;)

wishful thinking I'm afraid:

Gilbert did not play for Argyle when they drew 0-0 against Umea FC in the second game of their pre-season tour to Sweden last night.

The defender has sat out training for the last two days because of a foot injury he suffered in the 9-0 rout of Betsele IF on Tuesday.

However, Williamson had not intended to play Gilbert against Umea even had he been fit.

Gilbert completed all 90 minutes of the match at Betsele and the Pilgrims' boss always planned to play summer signing Rufus Brevett last night.

You may well be right but I wonder how Gilbert would feel about Plymouth if they did go to a 3-5-2 system. :)

How many times does a player who is the source of transfer speculation, then miss the next game with an injury, to then end up being transferred in a matter of days. If Gilbert was such a key part of Plymouth's squad then surely he would have been involved in some capacity especially if they are using a new formation, yet the manager states that even if he had been fit he would not have been considered. IMO Gilbert wants to come to Leicester, Plymouth are now trying to secure the best financial deal possible. I think he will sign for us within the next 24 hours, possibly even in time to be involved in some capacity against Inter.

Well I hope something happens soon. Time is running out and it would be nice to have the squad all together with at least 7 days before the big kick off........Is this wishful thinking!?!
