Unfortunately we don't have the players to play a more attacking midfield. We need King, Mattock and Stearman to have a blinder really, with no Ferreira, Kaebi, Clemence, Wesolowski etc we've got no alternatives.

other than Hellings, who else is playing midfield in the reserves? Anyone know anything of Billy McKay?
Of course the alternative would be to play Kishishev, Hume and King in Midfield, with DJ and Fryatt up front. Quite a risk away from home though as we'd be giving the ball away an awful lot.

I think Cort will start today. I know he's been useless as of yet but I still believe he will come good. He is not one of these players that 'have potential' and should do well. He has done the business before and he has done it at a higher level than this.

Given time and an injury free run then I believe he will become a key player for us. I won't be sighing if he's picked at 2.30 but just hoping that he going to get one step closer to fitness and a centre forward that will be an asset to us. Lets get behind Carl (metaphorically speaking!!) !!

i agree with Steven about Mattock or Sheehan to play the left side of the three midfielders in stead of Chambers. Chambers is a full back or centre back. Mattock and Sheehan give us better passing and more energy.

Cort should come from the bench.

After reading various pre match reports, it seems he will stick with the same side as Tuesday night. I would like to see Stearman and Chambers swap positions though.

Dunno why that hasn't happened yet. Chambers is so much better where he belongs and Stearman couldn't do any worse than Chambers playing more centrally.

What makes it all the more baffling is that Megson came out and said Chambers was the only player he really knew when he trotted out the 'I don't know the players' line the other day.

Chambers is dreadful in the middle, almost as bad as that horrible period when Kisnorbo tried to be a midfielder.
