A friend of mine rang 606 in our title season. It was the weekend before the Chelsea home game I think. He'd had a fiver on us to win the league in July (like he has every year since we were at school) He told the bloke on the phone he wanted to ask the studio guys whether they thought he should cash out or not.
They put him on hold on the switchboard for about 3 minutes & then a different bloke came on & said they wouldn't be putting his call through to the studio. He asked why. It was an editorial decision. Yes but why EXACTLY...to which the slightly exasperated BBC bloke replied:

"this is a serious show, not a forum for fantasy. You don't need to be put through because the answer is obviously yes. Cash out & buy yourself something nice" Then hung up.

Wests Ham though? Yeah, **** off.
