Be interesting ot see if the 'how do they do it without De Bruyne' rhetoric will be even remotely as strong as the Vardy one. Anyone got stats on points when he does or doesn't play?

De Bruyne was canny shit early on in the season. Since he's improved they've moved well up the table.

The Guardian had something in their live blog earlier today, can't find it now but it was something like 'lost five of the last eight without him'

"De Bruyne out (Man City have lost four of their last eight Premier League games without him by the way) and now Vardy sidelined. Are the planets aligning for Manchester United?"

Nice one, it's still very dramatic. Anything close to a repeat will make things very competitive

Just watching Villa v Toon, this new offside law is mighty confusing, Villa goal is offside when ball is crossed but because defender attempts to clear Watkins is then onside if defender had stood still he is then offside, surely lino should flag for offside if player is off when ball is played, Dean Smith won’t be moaning about this one though.

Agreed. It was more confusing that Darlow thought he couldn't use his hands to save though. Unless there's a new rule?

Looking at the league table - it feels much more like we're in the mix than it did last season to me. We're more consistent, have a deeper squad and feel more at home. We're getting points against teams with far more budget as well.

This season is shaping up to be really exciting.

Lampard may become a good manager for all anyone knows. However, the trend of managers getting roles on a hope rather than based on their managerial achievements is a weird one.

Three of the big six clubs went into this season with poorly qualified managers. What exactly did Chelsea think Lampard was going to achieve?

It's been great for Leicester and has allowed us a rare advantage over these cash rich clubs.

Spot on. The only logical approach to hiring Lampard was with the understanding he’d have to learn and grow into the role. He was never the man to deliver fast results.

To be generous to United, they have shown patience with Ole and he appears to be growing into the role.

As step too far for him at this stage, an over reach. Can't blame FL for taking the job, for accepting the challenge. I'm sure he was prepared to learn, given the right support. Maybe that's where Chelsea went wrong; not just in simply appointing someone with comparatively little experience but in also not supporting them adequately in that role.

The Danny Drinkwater stuff is magical - he posted a picture of one of his celebrations 2 minutes after Lampard left!

To be fair though, he's had a year and a half in the role and appears to be going backwards. He obviously only got the job in the first place because the transfer embargo meant nobody with the qualifications was interested, whereas Ole's record in Norway deserves more respect and the genuine stab at the job he's getting (and coming good with)

Oh, he's crap make no mistake.

And agree, Ole had a bit more about him in his background to suggest he might succeed. Still early days there.
