hello i am a halifax town fan and i am going to the conference playoff final to be held at your ground on saturday. I have been given a ticket for block M1 in the ground. I have discovered that this seems to be part of what is normally the away fans area of the ground. Is this area fenced off from adjacent blocks such as N1 (in the lineker stand) because i have some friends in that stand and i want to be able to sit with them?

Also is row G nearer to the pitch or to the top of the stand as that is the row i have been given.

Thanks a lot for your help, it is much apreciated.

there isn't any fencing normally, just unused seats and stewards usually seperate the fans. G is quite low, A is bottom going up through the alphabet and then double letters (AA etc)

Hope you have a great day. all the best!

EDIT: Webbo beat me to it.

The away end isn't fenced off from N1 but there is a stairway for police and marshalls to use that has a railing either side. If this is filled with our "heavies" they would rather hand you over to the police than accept a polite request to sit with your friends

Hope you have a good day out Halifax Town Fan

But it's not likely to be filled with "heavies", because it won't be the part of the ground that separates home and away fans, it will be in the middle of the Halifax fans.

thanks a lot people very helpful.

Do you still get a reasonably good view from so low down?

Do stewards allow you to stand up during the game?

Also does the roof cover all of the seats so if it rains do you all stay out of the rain?

Thanks again

Yes, it's fairly good

Do stewards allow you to stand up during the game?
No. End of.

More or less, with a heavy wind it the front rows will get wet, but in general it is OK, there are no open stands

Thanks again

would it be quite easy to get across this stairway with the railings or is it a bit of a no no?
Depends on the mood of the stewards, I suspect it will be difficult.

Where I sit there are lots of empty seats on the other side of the rail. The stewards will not let people use this. Even if their mates are there and they are stuck next to a 35 stone stinker

You will have a good view, I personally like sitting towards the top.

Ya wont be able to walk over the railings but you could walk through the concourses as the shutters which will normally divide the away fans from the home will be down.

Why not?

Are they the same as the ones that separate the East and South stands?

If they are they're dead easy to get over.
Physically they are easy to get over. But if the troops are in their sentry boxes, they will shoot as you cross

Well, I expect they would be sterwards etc. there. Easy to get over but I am not sure LCFC would like people noticeably climbing railings to get to another block for a play-off final.

But why will the troops be looking at that part of the ground?

I've never had a problem crossing between East and South stand, I don't think it will be any different to that, they'll be concentrating on the areas where the two sets of fans are close together.

I don't think anyone would notice if a few people move to a different part of the ground - as long as there are empty seats to sit in. It's not like they're moving to more expensive seats, they all cost the same for this game.

I sit right next to the railing between the family stand and the west stand. The stewards repremand people every match about crossing the railings both to and from the West stand

So I have to say Webbo, this time you are incorrect, they do have a problem with our own fans changing blocks. I see it every game

I've never had a problem doing this between the East and South stands, and I have done it several times.

Maybe the stewards do things differently in different parts of the ground - and maybe they're stricter with the West Stand, as that's for posh people only.

Me and Melton are talking about the set of stairs which seperate the away fans from the chavs to their lefts.
