Me: Hi Paddy - what was it that you said to the lino on Saturday when he missed that obvious decision not far out from goal?

Paddy: %^&(*%^( off, you ^&*(£! tw@t!!!!

Me: No not that one, Paddy. I'm talking about the one in the first half who missed you handling the ball in our area. Did you say thank you to him as you went off the pitch at half-time?

thought the ref was in a great position not to give it even if it was hard to see if he did handle it :102:

There is no doubt that he handled it.

Boc, where were you sat? We were corporate guests on Saturday and we were sat opposite the City fans and I think it was high up on his arm/shoulder, his arms were not raised and so ref & linesman did not give it.

I was sitting with the City fans, but looking through binoculars at the time. I thought that a penalty *could* have been awarded - the fact that it wasn't indicates either that the officials didn't see it or they didn't think it was deliberate.

My point is that these things tend to cancel each other out. And if he wants to play more football, Paddy needs to bear this in mind.

Nobody seems to have mentioned either that everybody believed that Joey was outside the box when he was unfairly tackled for the penalty decision. It is only the decisions that go against us that are put in the spotlight.

think webbo said that he was listening to radio leeds after the game and they said it was a pen so thats good enough for me ;) :icon_lol:

I don't give a fig what Radio Leeds says. The ref said it was a pen - and therefore it was a pen. I never argue with refs!!!

As a matter of interest, YV, you were there - did you think it was inside the box?

thought it looked close tbh couldnt really see too many legs in the way might have to invest in some 'noculars :icon_lol:

One thing I would say is that the Paddy incident was very quick for the officials to be 100% sure. The penalty incident was interesting. We thought it was outside the box (even though we are biased of course!) But on seeing it on the TV it was deffo in the box. The impact of the challenge put Joey's lower body outside of the box and I think this is why we all thought it was outside and not in. The 'offside' goal looked just that on first view and on the replay on the big screen at the ground. The only thought I had was that maybe one of our 'wall' did not get out quick enough.

I'm with you though, things tend to even out over time but it does not stop you having a go at the officials though does it?:icon_lol:
