If McLeish goes will CL be lined up to take over, or is this thought a load of horse hockey. :102: :icon_roll :icon_conf ;)

I can't imagine that CL's thus-far experiences at Leicester enhance his chances of getting a 'bigger' job.

Nah, sounds like rubbish to me, the name I've heard mentioned many times for the Rangers job is George Burley, which sounds far more likely.

I reckon they will go for Burley to. Dont think they will go for another relatively unproven manager after their recent experience with Mr McLeish.

recent being this season of course foxfan. IMO it is more his team this year, he won the league with someone elses cast off team last year.

Thing is I think Rangers have some pretty big cash problems! So they may find it difficult to get a 'proven' manager due to the lack of funds.

Yeh it is pretty much common knowledge that they have been struggling for cash for a while. Maybe its time for them to link up with the english leagues?

It gets me how theres plenty of Scots who want to be Indeopendent from the UK and hate the English - yet when it comes down to money they seem to have a different opinion.

I say leave the Scottish in Scotland and we can continue on as we are...we dont need Celtic or Rangers in our leagues at all. If they were to come in it would no doubt be at the expense of two english clubs somewhere along the line.

Plus its hardly fair on the traveling supporter if you have to go all the way to Glasgow to see your team play!

We were discussing this in the pub the other night, and we all agreed that in theory it could work, but its the logistics of it. It wouldnt be exactly fair to the other clubs if they came in and went straight into the premier league. But the wouldnt do it if they had to start at the bottom.
Also I think the UEFA/FIFA regs state that you can not have more than 20 teams in the top division, therefore to more premier league club would have to drop down at least just to let the old firm teams in.

All in all cant see how it would happen or well it would work pesonally.

yep, newcastle and sunderland prove too much for most teams to go to. the memory will still be fresh in the rangers board's minds of what levein managed with hearts, but i think for them they need a huge name otherwise the fans may turn on the executives. rangers have no money but their chairman has one or two pounds knocking about which he throws in when he feels the need.

as for compensation, if we got anything it would only go towards stealing someone else's manager

myself and mr yv were talking about the managerial merry-go-round on the way home after satdis game i said at least no-one will want our manager because were shite :081:

Think Burley will definitely be lined up for that job!
Cant see them sticking with McLeish for much longer, expectations and all that!

If Mcleish was going to be sacked anytime soon, I wonder why they didnt give portsmouth permission to speak to him, as surely they would of got some compo rather than having to pay him off

According to Monday's press were on the Up.
The Guardian said Through Craig Leveins tactical-nous we will develop into a good side.

No chance of Levein going to Rangers when McCleish is booted out.

Thats what I thought, but my old boss who is a 'Gers fan told me about this rumour. He works in Stirling and is a season ticket holder at Ibrox.
