Douglas 7 - Had a couple of scary moments in the 1st half when he came racing off his line and nearly gave away a penalty, but overall another very solid performance.
Stearman 6.5 - Recovered well from a shaky first half, on present form thoroughly deserves his place and is beginning to look like a regular.
McCarthy 8 - Joint Man of the Match, absolutely superb, full of passion and determination, was really up for the match and has now managed to cut out the indiscipline. Has flourished alongside Dublin, reminds me of a young Walsh.
Dublin 7 - Another sound and solid display from Dion, has bought a calmness to the youngsters around him, and has a prescense on the pitch, the other players seem to really respect him.
Johansson 6.5 - Much improved performance, although I would still like to see a natural left back in that position, got forward well and supported, and did a good job of nullifying Scowcroft's aeriel threat.
Sylla 7.5 - His best performance IMO, looked committed and wanted to be involved, and he always seemed to provide an end product today. We looked a real threat out wide.
Kisnorbo 6 - Went about his business in an unspectacular way, but did a good job of winning the midfield battle, formed a decent partnership with Joey.
Gudjonsson 7 - Played well, provided a decent threat going forward, was unlucky with a couple of long range efforts. Has played well this season IMO and I liked the shape we had in midfield today, it enabled the wide men to have a more attacking influence on the game.
Hamill 7.5 - Played very well, was an excellent outlet, good delivery and not afraid to run at players, looks a very good prospect and is a player capable of exciting a crowd, deserves an extended run in the side.
MDV 8 - Joint man of the match, looked a completely different player than the one on tuesday night, he looked a threat and was winning headers left right and centre. Two more excellently taken goals, and has shown some amount of courage to keep ramming the critics words back down their throats. Linked up very well with Hume.
Hume 7 - Did everything but score, another player who can lift a crowd with a moment of magic, looks like he is building a decent understanding with MDV, just needs to get a couple of goals, he now has to be the other starting striker, the boy looks class.
Overall a decent display and an excellent response to the poor performance and result on tuesday night. I liked the balance in midfield, it enabled our wingers to really have a go at the full backs and I felt we looked more of a threat and we created some very good chances and at times played some very neat football. We looked fairly solid at the back and I think we looked strong right the way through the spine of the side. IMO when either Williams or Hughes play in centre midfield especially when in a 2 man line up we are too lightweight and we are out muscled, tis didnt happen yesterday we won the battle which then enabled us to control the pace and tempo of the match. Massive improvement and 2 wins out of 3 is not a bad return, just a shame we didnt pick up something out of the Burnley game.
