As The Fox has said, an outbreak of common sense in team selection, and hugely encouraging all round. Of course, you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear (I'm referring to our wide players in particular) but IMO we played about as well as we can with these resources:

Pieman 4

Canero (his best game for us so far) 7
Dabizas 6
Heath 6
Tiatto 6

Gillespie (not as awful as usual) 5
Nalis 6
Gudjonnsen 7
Stewart 5

Scowcroft 7 (superb in first half, anonymous in second)
Connolly 7

Morris 6

roll on Cov!

Silkman, that's an average of 6 which is pretty poor really.

Pieman 3

Canero 7
Dabizas 7
Heath 7
Tiatto 5

Gillespie 6
Nalis 8
Gudjonnsen 7
Stewart 6

Scowcroft 6
Connolly 9

Morris 6

Fair point Joe - I probably usually give an average of 4 or 5 this season!
I'd give the team 7 for last night, and CL 8 !!!

how many leicester travelled, did we make some noise?

There was about 1500 city fans there. We did make some noise but nothing special! good performance though. Novel to see people playing in their correct positions.

Pressman - 5
Canero - 8
Heath - 7
Dabizas - 5
Tiatto - 5
Stewart - 6
Nalis - 8
Gudjonsson - 7
Gillespie - 6
Scowcroft - 7
Connolly- 8

Subs :
Morris - 7

Nalis and Canero were excellent, Canero probably tipping MOTM. The team looks a lot lot better, players playing in their natural positions helped us aswell. if we can play like that on Monday and have a bit more luck I think we'll win easily.

Came away from the game feeling very optimistic, the noticable thing was the work rate, everyone was closing down, defending from the front just like we used to. Nalis and Gudjonsson ran their socks off in midfield and both scored well taken goals. Thought Connelly and Scowcroft worked well together, Scowy won everything in the air whilst Connelly must be one of the unluckiest strikers we've ever had at the club, his free-kick that hit the post was top drawer. Two attacking full backs and out and out wingers I think signals Levein's intensions, plenty of crosses although too many wayward ones last night. Heath played well, came to Dabizas' rescue on more than one occasion. We lost another lead yet we finished the game the stronger and you could only see a Leicester win, that's not been the case recently. As for Levein, he was up and down off the bench, shouting instructions and giving encouragement which I like to see. Overall, very encouraging, can't wait until Monday !

Pressman 3

Canero 7
Dabizas 5
Heath 6
Tiatto 6

Gillespie 6
Nalis 8 (MoM)
Joey 7
Stewart 5

Scowcroft 7
Connolly 8 (almost MoM!!)

Morris 6

Overall, a very encouraging display.....Hope this is the way we continue for now on.....

When is Walker back?

Ok, Pressman has done a pretty good job as Walker's replacement but I'd sooner have Walker between the sticks.

I thought he was due back for the Stoke game but then nothing. Any ideas?

Two points... will Levein and his coaches be able to change Connolly from being spectacularly ineffective as a goalscorer to being ruthlessly clinical in despatching his chances. It's important because City need an 18 goals a season forward to win things.

Secondly if Spearman is half as good as his puiblicity why is he behind Dabizas on the teamsheet?.

Pieman 0. (What little he had to do he got wrong).
Canero 7,
Heath 6,
Dabizas 5,
Tiatto 5,

Gillespie 6,
Nalis 6,
Joey 8,
Stewart 6,

Scowcroft 7,
Connolly 7.5,

Morris 7 (pity he wasn't on longer).

I was pleased to see a structured formation for once. We had good options out wide and a target man up front that is actually mobile!

Pressman - 5: Was at fault for the goal and cost us two points (again)

Canero - 7: Best game in a city shirt. Got caught a couple of times though
Tiatto - 6: Reverted to left back and made skipper. Not his best game
Heath - 7: Solid again.
Dabizaz - 7: Just scrapes a seven. Got in the way on more than one occasion

Gillespie - 6: Bright at the start but poor deliveries let him down. Will get better
Stewart - 3: Shit.
Nalis - 7: Looked class when on the ball.
Joey - 7: Got stuck in. Good finish for goal.

Scowy - 8: Won everything in the air. I was convinced he would score
Connolly - 8: Ran his socks off and was unlucky to hit the post twice.

All in all a lot brighter. I was pleased to see Morris make an appearance. I thought that he played well and when match fit should take Stewarts place.
