We are in it if we lose tomorrow:icon_conf . Who would have thought that at the beginning of August:102:. I didnt expect top 2 or 6 but i did get taken along with the optimism and thought we would be at worst mid-table.
Is this a blip of which we will soon climb out of? are we any better than last season ? Has the rot well and truly set in:102:

Being in the bottom 3 at the begining of October, while not desirable, is not a complete diasaster. Still there in April and you can press the big red emergancy button!

Does that thing about being bottom by Christmas still apply in the Championship or was that just the Prem? (Even though it no longer applies)

It was a Prem thing.

That was what the media focus was on, but are there similar cases from the second tier? Has a team that was bottom at Xmas escaped relegation to the 3rd tier?

Yes. There are periods when it hasn;t happened for some years, but we are talking about over 85 years here.
