PLEASE CAN WE STOP SUGGESTING

In addition, anyone suggesting Sean Dyche needs to give their head a wobble. Set piece/long ball merchant who's achieved sod all with a squad that's not remotely set up like that and has been used to playing possession football for 5 or 6 years. Dyche would be an unmitigated disaster.

Well, we do need to drastically improve our set-pieces both defensively and offensively.

And our continual sideways and backwards passing isn’t serving us very well right now or playing to the strengths of our strikers.

Apart from that, sure, Dyche makes no sense at all.

Oh, and he’s used to a relegation scrap and working with a tight budget. But yeah, no reason at all why he might be a good fit in our current situation.

We've not got the players to play his way. No target men, nobody particularly good in the air in the whole squad. Our squad is not set up for Dycheball and it would take 3 years or so of transfer windows and a complete change/reversal of ethos to correct that.

I expect he'd almost certainly apply but we're more likely to stick to the possession ball plan and bring in a manager who will continue that.

I think you’re right about us likely going for a similar type of manager. I just don’t think a change of ethos would be the worst thing for us.

Also worth noting that Brendan's style of play is way more difficult to learn and grasp as a player. A monkey could grasp Sean "the baked bean" Dyche's style.

Maybe he played the way he did at Burnley because of the players he had? Radical thought, I know.

Or maybe not. He was there for years. If that was his way he'd have looked to have bring in the right players to help facilitate that. He had plentiful time to charge to do it but was happy to consistently play hoofball and thus its no wonder he ever achieved feck all..

Ranieri had no problem coming in and working with a squad of players who’s strengths did not fit his supposed preferred style of play…..that didn’t work out too badly

Look, if it's going to be Dyche something has gone desperately wrong at the club. I respect him as a man and a manager but he's in no way suited to our club or our squad of players. Can you imagine being one of our more creative or technical players and he walks in? No way.

I'd be staggered if we went for a manager who hasn't been in the PL before. It would go against everything we do. So there is no way we'd go for someone like Hjulmand or Postecoglou or any unproven overseas guy.

I also don't see us paying to get a manager out of a current job. We don't have the spare cash for it and there are too many obstacles. So that probably rules out the likes of Frank (I don't rate him anyway) or people like Emery. It would also rule out people recently out of work like Tuchel who will be stuck in legal hassles over compensation with Chelsea.

Finally, we can't take silly risks. Our predicament is a precarious one. We need someone pretty reliable who can be trusted to make a quick and positive impact. That rules out the likes of Bielsa or Solskjaer that appear (bizarrely) in the list of main candidates.

I reckon it will be Pochettino if he thinks we're about his best shot at getting resestablished in the PL or Benitez if not.

I don't disagree with most of this. But if Dyche's style won't suit our players then neither will that from Benitez.

Agree. I don’t think people realise just how limited his style of play is.
I'm not sure that Dyche is that limited but he has worked within a club that has no ambition, I don't really think Leicester should take the gamble that he isn't limited.

He also loves to play fans off against the owners when signings and style don't match up to what he pretends to want. He played the same style of shit that Steve Bruce did but fans bought into what he said. He tried the same at Everton and the fans said he was full of shit.....same would happen here.
