Reserves Defeat
Posted on: Mon 29 Oct 2007

Leicester City's reserve side went down 4-1 at Shrewsbury Town on Monday afternoon.

The Foxes named a very youthful line up for the clash - with six members of the starting XI involved for the under 18s in their 3-1 victory over Watford at the weekend.

Shrewbury raced into a 3-0 lead, and although Ashley Chambers managed to pull a goal back just before the break, City would eventually go down 4-1 on the day.

The City second string now have a nine-day break before they take on Rotherham in the final game of the Pontin's Cup group stages on Wednesday, November 7.

City: Nielsen, Hossein (Howard 45), Garner, Rowe-Turner, Cobb (Burns 45), Djeziri, McKay, Cox (C King 75), Odhiambo, Sappleton, Chambers

kaebi taken off at half time when we were 3-0 down. i guess he is just not up to it!

how bad is this fella exactly.
gets 45 minutes of a reserve game against shrewsbury. we go 3-0 down, he gets taken off.
he must be some sort of shit player. i think he's been taken of before the 45 mins is off for the reserves 3 or 4 times this season. even playing with youth team players.
get rid FFS it's getting embarassing.

Just because he was in the team it doesn't mean the goals were his fault.
Just because he came off at half time it doesn't mean he was having a bad game.
He has been injured, the plan may have only ever been for him to play half the match as part of his recovery. The goals conceded could all be due to crap goalkeeping, or one of the other players. Or just due to most of our team being kids, playing against much older more experienced players.

Why not wait until you see him in action before deciding if he's any good?

But that is logic Jeff, you know that is never used on this place!

Man city lost 6-0 on Saturday, does that mean all their players are crap?

Spot on, exactly the stuff i would have posted :)

He could have gone off cos of anything. Burrows may even had them bring him off at half time so he could have a few minutes at chelsea :102:

I feel sorry for the lad as a percentage of the typing public is expecting him to score 20 wonder goals a game in the reserves, and be the fulcrum of the first team when he is given the chance.

Give him time, and he may be alright and a half decent addition to the team.
