Almost at half time already, seems a weird time to be playing the game.

We're 1-0 down with a team of:

Nielsen, Maybury, O'Neill, Newton, Garner, Cobb, Hayes, Hellings, McKay, Sappleton, Chambers
Subs: Burns,Cisak, King, Tuttle, Cox

Glad to see that Ollie has seen how lazy and shit Newton is. He's not even good enough to play for the ressies imo

Finished 4-0 to Forest. Not a good first day for Gerry!

Foxes Fall To Forest
Posted on: Tue 18 Dec 2007

Leicester City's reserve side went down 4-0 to Nottingham Forest in the Pontin's League clash at the City Ground on Tuesday afternoon.

Reserve team manager Gerry Taggart fielded a side containing a mixture of youth and experience for the encounter - with Alan Maybury, Shaun Newton and Jimmy Nielsen (pictured) all handed a starting berth.

The home side contained former Foxes favourite Neil Lennon, who joined Colin Calderwood's squad from Celtic in the summer.

And it was Lennon who had the first real chance of the game in the 18th minute - but Leicester stopper Nielsen pulled off a good save to deny the Northern Irishman.

Forest would take the lead on the half-hour mark - Scott Dobie sliding in to poke the ball home from close range.

With half time approaching Matt Thornhill looked to have doubled the advantage for the home side, but Nielsen was on hand once again to produce a fine stop.

There was still time for another chance for Forest - but Nielsen was again up to the task saving well with his legs from Grant Holt.

But the Danish 'keeper could do nothing to stop Dobbie from heading home a Thornhill cross moments later to give Forest a 2-0 lead going into the break.

Ben Fairclough made it 3-0 on 55 minutes - heading home a right-wing cross from Holt.

Ashley Chambers had a good chance to grab a goal back ten minutes later, but his shot from the edge of the area fell straight into the hands of Dale Roberts in the Forest goal.

Substitute Ryan Whitehurst grabbed Forest's fourth in the closing stages - touching home Dobie's low cross.

City: Nielsen, Maybury, O'Neill, Newton, Garner, Cobb, Hayes, Hellings (Burns 65), McKay, Sappleton (C King 70), Chambers.
Subs not used: Cisak, Tuttle, Cox.

Yellow: Maybury (90)

Meanwhile, Leicester confirmed on the day that their Pontin's League clash at Wolverhampton Wanderers, which was originally due to be played on Monday, January 7, will now take place on Wednesday, February 13 (7pm).

I thought Lennon had walked out on them?

I do hope Sappleton's recent run out for the first team hasn't knocked his confidence too much...

.... or turned him into a big time Charlie. :icon_roll

I don't think Holloway will be too worried about Taggart replacing him based on that woeful result.
