Ive had problems with restore points not working on several PCs this week. I think the last update MS did on XP has majorly screwed a lot of peoples machines over.

The ones from last week screwed up sound on 2 PC's Ive seen since then.

No, on one of them it had replaced a DLL and half a dozen programs refused to work afterwards.
The other one kept insisting that I needed to activate XP, when I didn't, but wouldn't activate when I tried, ended up formatting & reinstalling XP.

I had the same issue, they both happened to be DLL's associated with the sound card.
