What about if it was a stellar performance with real unity and a huge sign that it was the turning point?
It won’t be. But let’s pretend that it is. He should still be sacked.

If it’s a solid 3-0 and we defend 12 corners then it might be.
But you just know even if we do win, Brendan will still do something utterly baffling.

Happy to write off a quarter of a season with no sign that things will improve and a massive game coming up against a local rival and fellow relegation contender.

No actual word from the club though, just throwing scraps for Tanner to communicate.

As has been said multiple times, we are completely rudderless, on and off the pitch.

Now a man who has seemingly done no work over the summer and written off his failure to do so as the club’s fault has a week and a bit to figure out how to win a game.

I don’t anticipate that this will work.

The club is confirmed as leaderless

I think if we win comfortably like 2:0 and its a good performance Rodgers will only get a reprieve until the next couple of games, the next 5 fixtures are all very winnable and will be massive for our season.
If Rodgers losses or draws v Forest he will be gone or we may as well accept relagation.

We’ll have had 1 game in 4 weeks, by the time we play Forest. Plenty of time to have made a change. We either can’t get a suitable replacement to agree to join us, or someone is desperately clinging to the hope that it’ll come good somehow. Whatever it is, this game against Forest is going to be huge.

With the way things have gone so far, I am disappointed that the board have not issued a statement to clarify the position of the manager and the club, are we so strapped that we can’t afford to sack Rodgers, if so we are in deep shit, if not then he should be gone now, let us know Susan Whelan then we can form our own opinions not just speculate tell us the TRUTH

Somebody at a senior level feels that Rodgers has been given a rough deal this season so is inclined to give him extra, extra time.

That added to the fact that our plan b was Potter means we are where we are. A frantic plan c is needed but options currently don't excite sufficiently to make a switch.

It's a bit of a shame that our current manager doesn't get a Vote Of Confidence from the board. We know that he'd be gone within a few days.

Putting ourselves in a ridiculous position where losing to forest improves our survival hopes. Just ****in sack the **** ffs.

He’s staying, so just leave it

And there’s no way we could possibly not beat that complete shower of shite, as they are genuinely awful - so he’s here for a while yet

And if you’ve not voted sausage, then you’re dead to me

Alternatively, a man who spent most of his holiday in the summer talking to 7 or 8 transfer targets across Europe and got most of them to agree to come here.

The board didn't tell him there was no money before that.

It was extremely embarrassing to him when informed he couldn't bring in any of the new players and really pissed him off.

It's the fault of the senior executives as much if not more than the fault of the manager.

Why we find ourselves in the situation we do is largely irrelevant at this point. It's crisis/disaster recovery time. Not making a change and just hoping everything resolves itself is, historically, not a particularly effective measure.
