Leicester City’s Development Squad defender Sam Hughes will link up with League One side Burton Albion in a loan deal to January 2021, subject to Football League approval.
The 23-year-old centre-back has been an impressive presence in defence for Leicester City’s Development Squad since his arrival in 2017 from Chester, where he was the team’s Player of the Season.
He has been a regular for the Development Squad since and spent part of last season on loan with Salford City in League Two, where he played 12 times in all competitions in the club’s first season in the Football League.
Hughes will now continue his development in League One with Jake Buxton's Burton Albion, who next face a trip to Plymouth Argyle on Saturday afternoon.
