any way without using firefox?

Surely saving them will infringe copyright and is as bad as Fludie and his torrents?

Are you telling me that YouTube has copyright material amongst all the videos? :icon_eek:

How to download youtube videos:

- Find the video on youtube and copy the URL (eg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYHJZoqvAmk)
- Go to http://www.savetube.com/
- Paste the URL into the 'Video To Save' box and click 'GO'
- Right click on 'DOWNLOAD' and select 'Save Target as…'
- Select a save destination (eg Desktop) and save the file naming it 'filename.flv' (N.B. you must add .flv to the end of the file name)
- Go to http://media-convert.com/
- Click 'Browse…' and navigate to and select the .flv file you have just saved
- Click 'OK' (blue button on the bottom right side of the window)
- Wait until the message 'File successful converted !' appears (a blue bar across the top of the window)
- Click 'Download' and then 'Save'
- Select a save destination and click 'Save'
- Open the file is the usual way to view the downloaded video

Notes:

- Media-convert should recognise the file as a .flv file automatically but if not, select 'Flash Video (.flv)' from the 'Input format' drop down list.
- The Output format should default to 'Windows Media Video (.wmv)' but if it doesn't, or if you wish the video to be in another format, make the appropriate selection from the 'Output format' drop down list.

Or you could use keepvid which doesn't force you to download as a crap .flv file.

I use Cinemaforge (free download), and then convert it to whatever (ipod mp4 for me)and it's fairly easy.
