My parents went to see this on Monday. My mum loved it and my dad gave up as he said a lot of it had subtitles and he got fed up with them! Mum said she was crying through a lot of it as it was so sad.
So, it gets a thumbs up from the 59 year old female and a definite thumbs down from the 57 year old (grumpy) male

I had this incident in a recent indie film, Red Road at the Phoenix. It's a 'dogma' film so plenty of long camera shots and a very slow-burner which ended into a cracking ending. There were a couple of the fore-mentioned couple's age, the woman was watching and seem to be enjoying it and then about a hour and 20 in, the male said 'I have had enough. See you in the bar after'.
I dont think the male would like to know that the film is part of trilogy!!

There were parts of it I liked. The car crash, 'No more feckin Merlot' and the naked bloke scene but apart from that I didn't enjoy as I thought I would.

OK, i watched it. Yeah, it was fecking fantastic. Yeah, it was maybe even the greatest film of all-time. Well the last half-hour is by far the best period of cinamatography I've seen anyway

Children of Men - Many had described it as one of the films of the year, it must have been a very slow year. 6/10
