A few (quite a few) years ago I was in a pub with some friends and the bill for the drinks came to £6.66 - nearly added something else on just to get rid of the number but I was too late. 2 hours later I was in the back of an ambulance on my way to A+E after a motorcycle accident.
Word got round where I live that I had been in an accident (there was even a rumour that I had been kiled) and one of my other mates (who had not been in the pub) came in to visit me and brought me a book to read to help pass the time ... the book was Robert Heinlein's "The Number Of The Beast"

I had the same happen to me with a barmaid who had a lisp.
