Why - we've won the last seven matches doing this
Because Villa at home will come at us straight away and we need to be ready, don't get me wrong it will be ideal if they do come out to play rather than putting 2 banks of four against us. If we start with a real tempo we can blow them away by half time, start slowly and we could be chasing a deficit which will allow their confidence to grow.
Villa and Norwich are must win games IMO Man City and Liverpool are the icing on the cake a win will be incredible and two draws would be a great achievement.

It's a sign of a very good team if they can spar with an opponent and wait for them to tire or adjust their tactics or get desperate, and then strike.

Mourinho's side's at their best did it for example.

I don't care how we beat teams but it's clear that we don't attempt to blow teams away early. It's not good for the nerves but you can't argue with its effectiveness.

If we had been a bit more clinical in front of goal in the first half of said games, this conversation would not be needed.
Far from starting slow, I’m wondering why we haven’t put teams to bed with the chances created before half time.
