I have transferred some video files from a Kodak Playfull video camera to my laptop. When I try to open them I get the message Server Execution Failed. Is this a problem with the files or with the laptop?

I guess you've done all the usual stuff? Tried plugging it into your sofa etc?

Which operating system do you have David?
What type of video file is it that you've transferred over?

It sounds like the player is possibly trying to download a codec but can't get it, maybe?

Does it have a file extension? Something like mp4 or mov or avi or wmv at the end of the filename?

According to Properties it opens with Windows Media Player but the type of file is MP4 video. Previous downloads have opened with no problem and still do so.

Download VLC Media Player, should be linked or available via the windows app store, play file, jobs a good 'un.

I'd recommend installing the K-Lite codec pack. Accept all of the default options during the installation and that should cure all of your present, and potential future, video playing woes.
