Site not secure

Hey Jeff,

On a couple of separate occasions over the last couple of days, I've had a notification that the site isn't secure and I can't login. I've followed the same link that I always do to view new posts (talkingballs.uk/index.php?find-new/posts), and I can still view posts, but can't login. It's typically fixed an hour later.

Not sure if it's my issue or the site's, but just thought I'd flag. And logging in via Chrome from Australia if that's relevant.

Ooooooh look at me in Australia.

No such problems in Melton Mowbray.

Are you using a VPN or Google's data saver setting? Sometimes I get that when it detects that the connection has a third party.

The site has a valid SSL certificate, so you shouldn't be seeing that notification.
If it happens again, please can you click on the not secure message, then find the bit with the information about the certificate and see what it says.
If it says it expired a few days ago, then your browser hasn't fetched the latest version of the certificate. I don't know why that would happen.

Another possible cause of this is if your time/date is incorrect.

You can check whether the site has a valid ssl certificate here: https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html?hostname=talkingballs.uk

No, I'm not. I was accessing it the same way that I always have.

Thanks.

Clicking on the not secure message doesn't seem to get me anywhere re information on the certificate (but that's probably user incompetence) - screenshot below.

I've got back in by deleting the previous data and cookies, but it's still showing as not secure.

For reference, I followed the sslshopper link and could see that all of the certificates were valid as per the above.

Time and date appear correct.

No worries if the issue is my side.

Hi, when I try and open filberstreet.net on my mobile, I get the message in the screenshot. It has only started happening this week. I generally use it every day and I don't use a VPN. If I click on a notification alert for a posting, that link works....
I get the same message on my laptop. Everything was working fine before, any ideas?

It has now started working on both mobile and laptop. I made no changes, maybe it was a 3-4 day tech blip. Anyway, no problems at the moment.

I fixed it. But it might go down again when I investigate what caused it.

Why do you still use the site?
I don't use the email part any longer. However, I'm still using the old link to the forum, which must be the problem. I'll try and go directly directly to talkingballs.uk. My mistake that I didn't change anything. "If it works, don't fix it" obviously has a life span
