We didn't do as well as we should have this season so we need to make changes. We should be as pro-active as possible and go out and sign the upgrades we need and let the chaff go. If we just wait to see who leaves it'll all end in tears with late or no signings.

I'm going to give my opinions - that's all they are, so no need to get nasty - on the present team and back-up, feel free to give yours.

Kasper - Keep if he wants to stay, if not go and get one of the good young keepers around. The difference in keepers is overstated in the prem. They are very dependant on what is in front of them.

Simpson - big upgrade needed, Simpson can stay as a squad player as we don't have another RB

Morgan - big upgrade needed, Morgan can go to Newcastle and weaken a competitor or stay as a Wasilewski like mentor for the younger guys.

Huth - Keep and start

Fuchs - upgrade - love his long throws but he was a bombscare at the back most of the season. Chilwell should replace him and let him go to NY.

Mahrez - for me this depends on the style we are going to play next season, possibly the most skillful player we've ever had but a failure most of the year. I'd keep him and change our style of play but if a massive offer comes in and he wants to go, so be it.

Ndidi - keep and start

Drinkwater - keep and start

Albrighton - keep and play when the opposition is right, dependant on our formation and style

Okazaki - upgrade, by all means he can stay in Leicester but he should rarely be in the first team.

Vardy - keep and start - unless we change our style of play.

This season's reserves

Zieler - he wasn't given a chance to show what he can do with the defence in front of him early in the season this means he doesn't merit starting if Kasper goes. Can warm the bench I guess.

Hamer - go.

Chilwell - Time to start

Wasyl - we know he's gone

Benalouane - keep as a back-up CB, not starting material though.

Wagué - no idea but unlikely to be starting material

Amartey - keep. I don't know if he can play CB, he's decent in CM, he isn't an RB. Back-up utility player who hopefully can prove himself good enough for the first team.

King - upgrade, he's not a starter and I'd prefer he wasn't ever on the bench. Maybe he's good for the younger players to see that a player can play League 1 and win a Prem title.

Mendy - keep, if he's fit he could still make the first team and certainly be back-up.

Kapustka - keep, he looked good for Poland, no idea what has happened in training, should be challenging mahrez, Albrighton and Gray for a place in the team. plus he's still young.

Gray - keep. See how he progresses and interchange with Mahrez and Albrighton when we need a skillful attacking player on the pitch.

Musa - I have no idea.

Ulloa - he can go.

Slimani - Move him into the first team alongside Vardy and Mahrez and let's see if it works.

So I reckon without anyone being poached from us, our major needs are CB and RB of starting quality, backup LB, CB (again) and striker.

but I also think we need a new manager and dependant on who that is and how he wants us to play the above could change.

Wague was only a loan and given his shoulder problem, can't see him coming back.

Christ... forgot all about Wagué. Wasn't he just on loan?

Lawrence? James?

Oh yeah, the loanees

Lawrence - keep, another in the mix for the mahrez, Albrighton, Gray, Kapustka positions. We have a wealth of skilfull lightweight defenders or albrighton for those wide positions.

James - keep, a great competitor for Drinky spot. I'm happy with the midfield options that we have, its the defence that needs a massive upgrade and the attack which needs depth.

Kasper - Keep and start remain as Capt

Simpson - Sell !

Morgan - Release

Huth - Keep and start

Fuchs - Release

Mahrez - Do everything to keep

Ndidi - keep and start

Drinkwater - keep and start

Albrighton - keep and start when he performs the whole team does been our most consistent player by a country mile.

Okazaki - Squad player

Vardy - keep and start - do everything to keep him he needs a striker of a similar style to him

This season's reserves

Zieler - he wasn't given a chance to show what he can do with the defence in front of him early in the season this means he doesn't merit starting if Kasper goes. Can warm the bench I guess.

Hamer - Release

Chilwell - starting eleven

Benalouane - keep as a back-up CB, has done well

Wagué - Looked decent however it was against Millwall

Amartey - Starting eleven as a CB

King - Release Championship standard has been a stalwart for the club and has been played out of position for 3 seasons.

Mendy - keep could start if fit and will add good competition for our Midfield.

Kapustka - keep looks a promising prospect should feature more next season.

Gray - keep jury is still out he needs to mature and make better decisions

Musa - GO GO GO !!!!!! release to a non league team

Ulloa - Sell to Brighton

Slimani - Release total waste of money nowhere near good enough.

We need two decent CB's another LB and RB one CM and a striker to compliment Vardy. Matty James, Barnes, Lawrence and co may feature having good loan spells.

The more I think about this, the more it seems I'm not that bothered about any of them.

Now that is ****ing bonkers considering what happened last season. I think the displays from earlier this season have had an effect on my opinion of some of the players.

My view.

The ten remaining 'Champions' should stay as long as they want to be here. I wouldn't want to push any of them out. On the other hand, if any of them want out, this is the time for them to go.

Keepers: Zieler is a sweeper keeper and we don't play that way. He's nowhere near as good at shot stopping as was made out when we got him. If he's unhappy (and he's intimated as much), sell. Cannot believe Hamer is under contract for another year, ditch if at all possible.

Defenders: Benny can go for me. Not good enough or consistent enough. Wasyl obviously. That leaves at least two vacancies in defence. Keep Chilwell.

Midfielders: N'Didi keep obviously. James and King are mediocre players. I don't think we can afford both so one should go, preferably James as he's the most unreliable injury wise. Mendy is a weird one. He's clearly a good player but something weird has gone on there. If he's fit and committed, I'd keep him, if not, sell. Amartey should have kicked on this season and hasn't. I'd give him another year largely because of his versatility, but it's make or break time for him. Kapustka - loan for a year in the Championship. Lawrence is in the last year of his contract - he either signs a new one and we keep him in the squad next year and see or we sell. Depending on the outs, we may need one in.

Forwards: Ulloa - sell. Slimani, I'd keep if he wants to be here. I have my doubts whether he does though. If we have a fully fit and committed player next year, he's a great asset. Otherwise, no point in him at all. Gray annoys me greatly. He's not as good as he thinks he is and that's often the sign of a player that will never fulfil their potential. I wouldn't be sad to see him go. Musa, waste of time this season. Again, undoubtedly a talented lad if properly into it. Fix his attitude/confidence or sell.
