I've noticed a similar problem.
With my old Sky+ box via a scart, I had the tv volume at about 25-30.
Now with the Sky+ HD via a HDMI lead it needs to be around the 45-50 mark.
Sound does tend to be quieter through and HDMI lead as opposed to SCART or coax, so it's not really a problem as such.
There is a clear difference between HD and non HD channels on my father in laws set up (top end stereo with tv/skyHD hooked up to the speakers). He looked into and they said it was the fact that transmitting the HD picture quality took up more of the “bandwidth” (not the right word but can’t think how they phrased it) so therefore they turned the sound quality down to allow for the extra “data” taken up by the picture.
Its a problem if you have it on volume 50 and you can hardly what they are saying. Since my ACDC gig Friday i cant hear it all :icon_lol:
I think the problem may lie in the fact there is someting called an HDMI lead as mine is only scarted. :icon_lol:
but you had HD installed didnt you? The engineer should have rigged it up through HDMI.
No wonder you cant tell the difference :icon_bigg If you are still running through SCART you arent viewing HD.Dont think so mate. I will have a look when i get home.
Isn't one of the main points of HD that you also get HD quality sound?
Sound level and quality seems ok on scart 2 channel but when i switch to HDm2 channel the levels drop ?
Have you checked the batteries on your hearing aid ?
Reminds of the one about the old chinese dentist
