To be fair I'm not sure it would have been easy for anyone to come in at the time. I'm sure the players were pretty disillusioned with the club with Pearson leaving. The fact he didn't have a scooby doo just compounded the problem.

It does seem like he's trying to shift the blame. Personally I think he has to take most of the responsibility. The new players argument doesn't add up for me, we had a squad that had already proven itself strong enough to make the play-offs. He added some good players to that but his management on the pitch was obviously god awful. Didn't seem to be much of a man manager either..

Truly glad he has gone, it was obvious after about 3 or 4 games that he was going to be a disaster in the making..

To come into a club and try to change the entire dynamic of a succesful team is deluded.

It's not deluded at all. It just needs to be done over a longer period and slowly phased over to another dynamic (in the way Wenger did at Arsenal, (his side were pragmatic for the first few seasons he was there), or as a lower league example as Sean O'Driscoll has done at Doncaster), not in one summer.

He got exactally what he deserved.

Unfortunately we are stuck with all his signings, who havent managed a single outing between them under Sven.

Vitor, Moussa and Abe. All seem decent enough at this level atleast and all have had varying levels of game time under Sven.

So your up for 4-5 years of losing 6-1 at Portsmouth as long as we pass the ball well in 2016.

Sorry but I would have seen a system that had taken those same players to the brink of promotion and built off of that.

You've missed my point. We wer losing 6-1 to Portsmouth, because he changed it straight away.

When Wenger came in, he kept the same successful side and kept that style of play, slowly bringing in new players and another style of play over a number of seasons, while staying consistently successful doing it.

Sousa tried to change too much too quickly.

Yeah cause Sousa definately signed him. Nothing to do with the new owners or Milan.

And you think he had been tracking Waghorn for months, do you, and was happy to spunk £2million on him ?

You can't have it both ways - Abe and Vitor are as much Sousa signings as Lamey, Moreno and Waghorn

To be fair he was brought in to do just that. He was appointed because the Thai consortium wanted to play attractive football and Milan got him in with them very much in mind. Sven has pretty much the same ethos when it comes to the style of football and dynamic.

Also Vitor has also played a bit but has suffered from injuries.

Vitor - Always Injured. Only notable contribtion was being sent off against Pompey.

Moussa - Has looked completley out of his depth, no matter the opposition.

Abe - Pretty sure he was a TOP signing or at least some influence.

I've thought Moussa has looked decent each time I've seen him play. A little out of his depth against Man City but showed some nice touches.

Unbelievable

.... so why has SGE got basically the same team winning points and moving up the table then.
In the same amount of games Sousa had (was it 9 ) how many points did Sven get.

Also where are Swansea in the table and the manager there started after we had appointed Sousa.

BG, you're missing my point, I'm criticising Sousa, not defending him. I think he was awful for us.

I see your point, as it's blindingly obvious.

Of course a manager, in time carves a team in his own image and of course it should be done over a number of seasons. Pearson is the perfect example of that at Leicester.

Sousa obviously did it too fast. Taylor made a similar mistake by my recollection.

Exactly.

I am not sure the style needed changing. We reached the play-offs under Pearson and with King, Morrison and Hobbs maturing plus a couple more good signings .I was really looking forward to the season. I was very sorry to see Pearson go but was relieved to see it was Sousa rather than the usual mediocrities who had been mentioned. I soon found that Southgate-Coleman etc would have been better.

Leicester under Sousa were not competitive. We soon found that they had not spent the pre-season building up their fitness. We then found Sousa was making quite silly comments after the game. I lost all respect for Sousa after a game we lost (I forget which one) because the other team was physical and we are not suited to play against physical teams. I wonder what Hobbs, Berner, Wellens and Howard thought about that.

It needs to be emphasized that Sousa has a pre-season. What would Sven have achieved if he had been appointed to replace Pearson.

Sousa looked stylish and had a great way with words but as I said at the time if those were the chief criteria Leicester might as well have appointed Brian Sewell.
