So, and I know we've had this conversation before, but what players are currently in the squad that stand no chance of getting a game and need to move on or be moved on? Surely we have too many players on the books at this stage.

For me, Lamey, Moreno and Neilson stand out, are there others?

All of Sousa's signings bar Abe basically.

Waghorn?

As for Leon whatshisface....yeah, unless they think he is going to develop a LOT, he needs to move on.

What about Logan?

Logan is a good keeper and a good number two to Weale. He will also be a good number 3 to Given.

We've only got about 22 players in serious contention for the first team and some badly paid cannon fodder.
I don't think we've a flabby playing staff by any means (not Fryatt's gone). We might be low in terms of quality in some areas but not oversubscribed with numbers by any means (remember a lot of the listed squad members are on youth or first year professional terms).
Hopfeully Yak etc will drive average attendance up to 25,000 and get circa £150k a week extra running into the coffers.

Our average attendance is 23,000

So if our average goes up to 25,000, that's an extra 2,000.

But that's not every week, because we don't have a home match every week. So I'll be generous and say it's the equivalent of 1,500 per week.

Say the average ticket price is £25 (I'm being generous there too, a lot of kids/students/oldies will be paying a lot less)

That works out as £37.500 per week. But that includes VAT, so the club don't really get that.

So really it would be more like £31,000 extra income per week,

So I don't know where your £150,000 comes from.

Do you think these extra fans will spend £100 each in the club shop before every match?

Ouch :icon_bigg

So:
- we don't make money from gate receipts for away matches. (oh yes we do)
- fans spend nothing on merchandise within the ground when they come to the stadium. particularly when attendance is their first time back in a while.
- away fans don't buy a programme and get annihilated at half time.
- away fans with the chance to see Yakubu et al won't come in greater numbers...

£37,500 my arse.

Better team = more revenue.

I suppose we'll see. But 37,500 a week is a ridiculuous, ridiculous suggestion of the extra revenue that players like Yakubu will add to the clubs coffers.
Money they can negotaite from Thai and Far East TV and shirts will probably amount to that on its own...

The club gets a small fee to cover the cost of selling away tickets. Something like a pound.
But I don't know what that's got to do with our home attendance going up to 25,000.

Who has suggested that?

You said that an increase of less than 2,000 on our home attendances would bring in £150,000 a week, which is clearly nonsense. Now you're trying to claim you said something else.

Heres the list I can think of we should do without:

Lamey
Moreno
Tunchev
Crnic
Oakley
Howard
NGuessan
Vitor (to a lesser degree)
Neilson
Kennedy

Bit harsh on one or two of them, and we would need some replacements...but none of these players are the future.

I'd keep Vigor, moreno, Kennedy and maybe see if we can replace Powell with Howard

We get the standard 5%, as specified by the Football League. All the expenses of selling them, including postage, has to be taken out of this measly sum. It is certainly not a money-maker and is not designed to be.
